WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning, especially our guests.  We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.


THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning’s worship service are Maggie Kruse and Clay Johnson.  Wednesday evening they will be Seth Gutz and Nick Penlerick.  Next Sunday they will be Levi Gutz and Daniel Wiese.


WE REMEMBER IN OUR PRAYERS TODAY:  Jared Bessmer, Bernice Kumm, Glen Kumm,  Doyle Timmerman, Darrel Kahny, and Ben Zechmann.  We also, rejoice with Justin and Christy Koehler and give thanks for the gift of a son, Toby Allen,  who was born last Wednesday, November 28th.   In addition, we  remember the family of Ronald Kear, who entered God’s eternal keeping on Monday of this past week. If you have prayer requests for any members of your family or friends, please notify Pastor or the church secretary to have them added and also when you want them removed.


SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS EVE PROGRAM PRACTICE for grades K – 8 will be held on December 8th, 15th & 22nd, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Nursery and Pre-School ONLY need to come to the last practice on the 22nd.  The kids will also be practicing every Sunday during Sunday School, please try to have your children at all of the practices, so that they are better prepared for the program.  Thank you for all your help.


THE CHOIR will meet next Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m.

THE FOOD OFFERING FROM OUR CONGREGATION’S THANKSGIVING WORSHIP SERVICE have been delivered to the Food Pantry at the Methodist Church.  If anyone is in need of items or knows of someone who is in need, please contact the Methodist Church Office from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Monday thru Friday.


THE NACHOS FOR MARIA THRIVENT BENEFIT will be held today from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Foster, to help defray travel expenses as Pastor Jerome Leckband and his family visit China in late December or January to bring home their new daughter, Maria Kay.  A Nacho Bar will be served for a free will donation.  Along with the meal they will be hosting a silent auction of donated items.  Thrivent Financial will be supplementing funds.  If you cannot attend, but still would like to contribute, a freewill door offering will be taken following our worship services this morning.


A FREEWILL SOUP AND DESSERT DINNER along with a silent auction will be held today from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Osmond City Hall for Rebecca (Becky) Palu, who was stricken with West Nile, and is unable to work and faces a long expensive recovery.


THE LITTLE TIGERS DAYCARE  (in the former Blessed Beginings Daycare building) is  looking for donations of kitchen items, baby items, toys, etc.  If you have any of the above items that you would like to donate, the drop off date at the daycare will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on December 8th.  If you can not make it at that time, please call Robin Koehler at 748-3298 to make other arrangements.

BIBLE STUDY will be held this Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.


THE LWML CHRISTMAS PARTY will be held on Tuesday, December 4th, beginning with social time at 6:00 p.m., and a potluck beginning at 6:30 p.m.  All LWML members are asked to bring a hot dish, and one other dish.  Please remember your husbands are invited to attend.  We will also have an offering for Lutheran Family Service and our project—“The Beckendorf Ministry”.


MIDWEEK AND CONFIRMATION CLASSES  for students in the 5th thru 8th grades will meet this Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.


ADVENT WORSHIP SERVICES will be held this Wednesday evening beginning at 7:30 p.m.


THE MEMBERS OF THE LADIES AID will host the fellowship hour following the Advent Worship Service this Wednesday evening.  Aid members are reminded to bring 1 dozen sandwiches to serve and help serve and clean up.


THE LADIES AID/LWML BAZAAR will be held this Friday, December 7th in the fellowship hall from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.  They will serve Chili, Chicken Noodle Soup, Taverns, Hot Dogs, Ham Sandwiches, Pie and Coffee.  They will also have a bake and craft sale. Everyone is invited to attend.


THE NORFOLK MEN’S CHORUS under the direction of Dale Stephenson and accompanied by Steve Reinke will present “A Christmas Concert” at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon at the Johnny Carson Theater.  Tickets are $6.00 at the door.  All proceeds go to Good Neighbors. 


“BEHOLD THE STAR!” a Christmas Journey to the Light of Christ will be presented by Zion Lutheran Pax Worship Team, next Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Pierce, Nebraska.  Everyone is invited to attend.


THE OSMOND UNITED METHODIST Christmas Cookie Sale, Tea Room and Christmas Rummage Sale  will be held on Friday, December 14th from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.


SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS MISSION PROJECT:  This year’s Sunday School Mission Project is to grant Christmas Wishes to area Foster children in Pierce and Madison Counties.  All members of the congregation are encouraged to participate.  Suggested gift items include the following:


            Socks                                       All sizes are needed


            Hats & Mittens or gloves



            Little army guys


            Any type of art supplies (colors, construction paper, markers, etc.)

            Princess items

            Hello Kitty items

            Any type of dress-up

            Play money

            Silly Putty


            Books  (Pre-school thru High School ages)


            For Teenagers –small, medium or large shirts (male or female)

            Coupons to a fast food restaurant would be a treat


Gift items may be brought to church and placed in the boxes under the tree in the new educational wing, where the Sunday School meets for their opening devotions.  (Please leave the gifts unwrapped).
