WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

THE CANDLELIGHTERS for today are Matthew Alderson and Baylen Guenther. Next Sunday they will be Molly Beacom-Timmerman and Juliana Kumm.

OUR READER for this morning is Larry Krohn and next Sunday, the reader will be Paul Koehler. Helping with communion next Sunday will be Ed Brummels and Larry Krohn.

SUNDAY SCHOOL will be held this morning.  Promotion Sunday/Sundae Sunday will be held on Sunday, September 12th to welcome all students back full time to Sunday School classes.  Teachers are still needed.  Please consider teaching the future of our congregation!

BIBLE CLASS TODAY continues the study of the Old Testament book of Judges. Today’s class will focus on Samson, who is possibly the most flawed judge, yet amazingly more than any other Old Testament figure foreshadows Jesus. You will be amazed at the parallels. Join adult Bible class today to uncover how Samson points to the Savior, Jesus.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE MEETING will be held this evening at 7:00.

THE IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CEMETERY will be mowed tomorrow, August 30th at 6:00 p.m. The following members are asked to please come and help mow: Brian Lorenz John Newton Tim Oltjenbruns Justin Orr Greg Pfanstiel Jim Pfanstiel Kevin Pfanstiel Randy Pfanstiel Loren Poellot Chris Rohde Kent Schuettler Wyatt Schuettler Please note!! If you cannot come Monday evening, you may come Sunday evening or Monday afternoon, but please contact your chairman, Lyle Kuhlman at 402-748-3865. Women and older children are also welcome to help mow. We need riders, push mowers and trimmers in order to do a good job. PLEASE RAISE MOWER DECKS AS THE HOSES FOR THE TREES ARE GETTING HIT BY THE MOWERS!

FAREWELL POTLUCK: There will be a Farewell Potluck for Pastor and Darlene Lilienkamp next Sunday, September 5 at noon. The congregation is invited to attend. Please bring a meat/main dish and/or salad. There will be a cake for dessert.

THE NEXT CALL MEETING will be held on Wednesday, September 8th at 7:30 p.m. You may come earlier, beginning at 7:00 p.m. to look at the personal bios if you wish.

CONFIRMATION AND MIDWEEK CLASSES will begin on Wednesday, September 8th from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. There will be a meeting with Pastor Rosenthal for the parents of the 7th & 8th grade confirmation class at 5:30 after this first class on September 8th. Parents are asked to please plan to attend.

QUILTING: We will begin to start tying quilts beginning September 13th at 1:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome!

MAIN STREET LIVING NEWS: This is the Life – “Candidate for Father” – An unwed daughter is not forgiven by her candidate for city council father. Worship Service – Rev. John Schmidt, pastor at Good Shepherd in Lincoln, NE presents a message titled “The Eternal and True Way”. This sermon is based on Psalm 119. Additional information is available on the website: www.mainstreetliving.com. These shows air today beginning at 10:00 AM on KCAU-9 TV out of Sioux City.

ST. JOHN’S, PIERCE will be celebrating their 150th anniversary next Saturday and Sunday, September 4-5 with church history tours, games for everyone, Supper on the Big Tent, a Southern Gospel Trio concert on Saturday from 7-9 pm. The anniversary worship service will be at 10:00 a.m. featuring guest speaker, Pastor Sommerfeld, followed by a Sunday Dinner. Meals will be Free Will Offering.

STATE FAIR SERVICE TIME: The Nebraska LLL will host a worship service at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island on September 5th beginning at 9:00 am. Guest speaker will be Rev. Jacob Bobby from First Trinity, Bloomfield.
