immanuelosmond | 18 June, 2021 11:39

WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

OUR READER for this morning is Ed Brummels and next Sunday our reader will be LYF member, Karter Johnson. Helping with communion this morning are Ross Stelling and Paul Koehler.

CANDLELIGHTERS for this morning are Cali Gutz and Zaylah Pfanstiel. Next Sunday they will be Kaden Polt and Cody Gansebom.

TODAY WE GIVE THANKS FOR FATHERS. We give thanks for those fathers who have striven to balance the demands of work, marriage, and children with an honest awareness of both joy and sacrifice. We give thanks for those fathers who, lacking a good model for a father, have worked to become good fathers. We give thanks for those fathers who by their own account were not always there for their children, but who continue to offer those children, now grown, their love and support. We pray for those fathers who have been wounded by the neglect and hostility of their children. We give thanks for those fathers who, despite divorce, have remained in their children’s lives. We give thanks for those fathers who have adopted children, and whose love and support has offered healing. We give thanks for those fathers who, as stepfathers, freely choose the obligation of fatherhood and have earned their stepchildren’s love and respect. We give thanks for those fathers who have lost children to death, and who, despite their grief, continue to hold those children in their hearts. We give thanks for those men who have no children but cherish the next generation as if they were their own. We give thanks for those men who have ‘fathered’ us in their roles as mentors and guides. We give thanks for those men who are about to become fathers; may they openly delight in their children. And we give thanks for those fathers who have died, but who live on in our memory and whose love continues to nurture us. We give thanks for fathers. Happy Father’s Day!

TODAY ADULT BIBLE CLASS begins a new study series on the book of Judges. The Old Testament book of Judges is very contemporary for our lives today. A repeated phrase in Judges is: “Everyone did what was right in their own eyes,” and that phrase pretty much describes life in the United States today. Join Adult Bible Class to explore how God’s people handled life in similar circumstances to today. In addition, the book of Judges has some very interesting accounts, perhaps, most humorous story in the Old Testament. See you in Bible Class!

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet this Thursday morning at 6:30 AM. The men’s group enjoys a lite breakfast, fellowship, study, and prayer. The group has started a study on the book of Psalms, which passionately touches the human heart because it expresses the emotions of the human heart. Psalms touches our hearts today because we have the same emotions. Now is the time to join a lively men’s study group. See you Thursday morning at 6:30 AM.

REMINDER: Deb will be out of the church office for the National LWML Convention from Wednesday through Monday. The bulletin for next Sunday will be printed on Tuesday morning. Please have any announcements to the church office by 8:00 a.m. Tuesday. Thank you!

A DIGITAL SIGN is being considered to replace the sign on the NE corner of the church. A poster has been made and is in the back of church. Donations from memorials and/or designated donations from members is how the sign will be paid for. The committee is considering this a mission project. Any questions may be addressed to the committee: LaDonna Stanosheck, Randy Pfanstiel and Deb Gutz.
