immanuelosmond | 08 January, 2021 11:59

WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

OUR READER for this morning is Mike Johnson. Our reader for next Sunday will be Paul Koehler. Helping with communion next week will be Ed Brummels and Larry Krohn.

CANDLELIGHTERS for this morning are Mason Gansebom and Karter Johnson. Next Sunday they will be Hunter Buchanan and Zaylah Pfanstiel.

COVID PRECAUTIONS AT SUNDAY WORSHIP: At the present time the Board of Elders have decided, in light of increasing number of cases in the area, to increase the health caution at worship services. This means every other pew is marked off, masks are encouraged but not required, handshaking is avoided, and communion distribution moved to the conclusion of the service. These changes are temporary to minimize COVID. The Lord’s Supper, a treasure of the Lord’s presence, is normally celebrated at the altar with blessing for each table. While receiving the Sacrament at the conclusion of the service, walking out, doesn’t seem as reverent, it remains the holy Sacrament of the Lord. Pray that, through God’s blessing, all segments of our lives, at home, work, school, community and church will get back to a full normal.

ADULT BIBLE CLASS will take up Exodus chapter 18 where Moses gets a visit from his pagan-priest, Midianite, father-in-law, Jethro. Amazingly, Jethro teaches his son-in-law, Moses, something important about leadership. The lesson that Jethro taught Moses about leadership is still important for the church today, and, because Immanuel Lutheran Church, Osmond will be calling a new pastor soon, it is an important lesson for our congregation. Join adult Bible class to learn about and discuss this important lesson.

END OF YEAR OFFERINGS IMMANUEL HAS RECEIVED, for which we are ever thankful for have come from Allen Broekemeier as well as the following businesses: West-Hodson Lumber Co., American Legion Post 326, Osmond VFW Post 7838, Tiger Town Food Center, Manzer Equipment, Osmond Farm Supply and Sons of American Legion.
