WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

OUR READER for this morning is Paul Koehler, and next Sunday our reader will be Mike Johnson. Helping with communion this morning are Larry Krohn and Ed Brummels.

CANDLELIGHTERS for this morning are Juliana Kumm and Reese Johns. Next Sunday they will be Mason Gansebom and Karter Johnson.

COVID PRECAUTIONS AT SUNDAY WORSHIP: At the present time the Board of Elders have decided, in light of increasing number of cases in the area, to increase the health caution at worship services. This means every other pew is marked off, masks are encouraged but not required, handshaking is avoided, and communion distribution moved to the conclusion of the service. These changes are temporary to minimize COVID. The Lord’s Supper, a treasure of the Lord’s presence, is normally celebrated at the altar with blessing for each table. We treasure that intimate reception of the Body and Blood at the altar. While receiving the Sacrament at the conclusion of the service, walking out, doesn’t seem as reverent, it remains the holy Sacrament of the Lord. Pray that, through God’s blessing, all segments of our lives, at home, work, school, community and church will get back to a full normal.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY continues a chapter-by-chapter study of Exodus. Today class will discover that the once in the wilderness, the Israelites came down with a case of the “GOOD OLD DAYS” syndrome. In answer to their moaning, God gave Israel what today we might call a “whatchamacallit” food. The “GOOD OLD DAYS” syndrome still plagues people today. Join Bible class to find about “whatchamacallit” food.

THE POINSETTIAS on the spiral stands in the back of church and behind the candles on the altar will be taken down after worship this morning. Please feel free to take one home if you would like, otherwise they will be disposed of. Thank you.

ANNUAL REPORT will be worked on in January. Officers, please bring your reports to the church office as soon as possible. Thank You!

NEW BIBLE STUDY OPPORTUNITY: Beginning Thursday, January 14 at 6:30 AM, Pastor Lilienkamp will moderate a men’s study time. The study will use a synodical study to help small town/rural congregations grow in faithfulness to the Word of God. The study will address some of the issues that President Snow raised at the pre-call meeting of Dec. 1. Men, young and old, are encouraged and invited to the study time. See insert.

PASTOR LILIENKAMP is available Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Wednesday evenings. He will be teaching confirmation class from 4-5:30 PM. Thursday mornings, he is available before and after 9:00 AM Bible class. Thursday afternoon available until 3 PM. To ensure contact, please call Pastor Lilienkamp (402-369-2529). Thank You!

WHAT ABOUT BOOKS have been revised and are available for you near the bulletin boxes. These books are easy to read and explain what Lutherans believe and teach about topics important for today.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR: Each week the nation’s longest-running Christian radio broadcast speaks to more than a million people about the matchless love of God as revealed in His Son Jesus Christ. Take a few moments from your busy schedule to listen to Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler, Speaker for The Lutheran Hour, as he shares God’s Word in his own inimitable style. Listen on-line at your leisure at https://www.lutheranhour.org. Today, “Too Much” – The Gospel according to St. Mark shows us the Savior who is always on the move. (Mark 1:1-2:12).

THANK YOU to Mr. Riley Hlavac, who filled in at the last minute as our organist on New Year’s Eve! He is a music student at Wayne State College.
