immanuelosmond | 11 December, 2020 12:25

WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

OUR READER for this morning is Mike Johnson. Our reader for Wednesday evening and next Sunday will be Larry Krohn. Helping with communion next week will be Paul Koehler and Dwight Kahny.

CANDLELIGHTERS for this morning are Connor Gutz and Zachary Huwaldt. Wednesday evening they will be Connor Gutz and Grayson von Rentzell. Next Sunday they will be Connor von Rentzell and Molly Beacom-Timmerman.

COVID PRECAUTIONS AT SUNDAY WORSHIP: At the present time the Board of Elders have decided, in light of increasing number of cases in the area, to increase the health caution at worship services. This means every other pew is marked off, masks are encouraged but not required, handshaking is avoided, and communion distribution moved to the conclusion of the service. These changes are temporary to minimize COVID. The Lord’s Supper, a treasure of the Lord’s presence, is normally celebrated at the altar with blessing for each table. We treasure that intimate reception of the Body and Blood at the altar. While receiving the Sacrament at the conclusion of the service, walking out, doesn’t seem as reverent, it remains the holy Sacrament of the Lord. Pray that, through God’s blessing, all segments of our lives, at home, work, school, community and church will get back to a full normal.

ADULT BIBLE CLASS this morning continues a chapter-by-chapter study of the book of Exodus, one of the most significant Old Testament books for our life in the world today. This morning class will take up chapters 11 and 12. Chapter 12 is unbelievably striking as it foreshadows, redemption, Jesus as sacrificial lamb, and the Lord’s Supper. Why not join adult Bible study?

ADVENT AND CHRISTMAS SPECIAL SERVICES continue Wednesday, December 16th, as the LYF presents a drama at the regular midweek Advent Service. The Christmas Eve Service, December 24th, at 6:30 PM, children’s service features Sunday school children telling the beautiful story of Jesus’ birth. Christmas Day worship, December 25th at 9:30 AM, is a service of singing, the Word, and prayer announces the birth of the Savior. See out the old year and welcome in the new year with worship with Holy Communion on New Year’s Eve, December 31st at 6:30 PM. Remember the word of the shepherds, when the angels told them of the Savor’s birth, “Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing which has happened.”

PRE-CALL MEETING was held on Tuesday, December 1st. If you would like to nominate a pastor to be on the call list, forms are available by the bulletin boxes. Deadline for nominations is December 27, 2020!

BECKENDORF OFFERING: The LWML annually has been donating the offering at the Advent fellowship hour to the Beckendorf ministry through LBT.
