WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning.  We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.  A special welcome to Rev. James Carretto, who is leading our worship this morning.


OUR READER for this morning is Larry Krohn, and next Sunday our reader will be Mike Johnson.  Helping with communion next week will be  Paul Koehler and Dwight Kahny.

CANDLELIGHTERS for this morning are Matthew Alderson and Kaden Polt. Next Sunday they will be Anna Kahny and Cali Gutz.


VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is ongoing with four “virtual lessons”.  Packets will be distributed to families after church at both entrances on the following two Sundays:  August 16th, & August 30th.

A different lesson will be in each packet.  If you are not able to attend church on the Sundays mentioned, feel free to stop by the church and pick up a packet as they will be on a table near the back of the church.


THE IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CEMETERY will be mowed tomorrow,   Monday, August 10th at 6:00 p.m.  The following members are asked to please come and help mow:

PLEASE NOTE!!  If you cannot come Monday evening, you may come Monday afternoon or Sunday evening, but please contact your chairman, Rich Lind, at 402-748-3840.  Women and older children are also welcome to help mow.  We need riders, push mowers, and trimmers in order to do a good job.


ADDITIONAL DONTIONS NEEDED: The cemetery directory committee is asking for more donations so that the shelter for the cemetery directory can be finished.  Approximately $7,000 is still needed.  Your donations can be put in the offering and we ask that you please note on your check and envelope that is what your donation is for.


NOMINATING COMMITTEE MEETING will be held here tonight at 7:00 p.m. All second-year officers are asked to please attend this meeting to work on finding members to fill positions on the church council and committees for the upcoming year. 


THIS IS THE LIFE AND WORSHIP SERVICES THROUGH MAIN STREET LIVING are held each Sunday on KCAU-9 from Sioux City at 10:00 and 10:30 respectively. Today “One Hour to Live” – Divine forgiveness for the truly penitent assures a man—and in the nick of time.  The worship service is led by Rev. Ken Willie Bertrand from St Paul and Immanuel Lutheran in Concord, Nebraska.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR —“Bringing Christ to the Nations and the Nations to the Church” on WJAG each Sunday at 7:30 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. Today, A 5-year-old boy once observed, “God has the whole world in His hands-but sometimes He drops it”  Hear how Dr. Dale Meyer responded to that young philosopher in a classic message titled, “Over the Darkness, God Hovers”.  It’s Archives August .


THE SECRETARY will be out of the office Monday and Tuesday this week.  If you have a note to go in the bulletin, or a prayer request addition/deletion please e-mail it to the church office at or leave a note on the secretary’s desk.


YOU ARE INVITED to a fellowship hour on Sunday, August 16th, after the worship service, to honor this year’s Confirmation class. Rolls and coffee will be served. Please plan to stay and congratulate them and welcome them. 


Today we welcome Rev. James Carretto as our worship leader. His message, "The Gods of Fear vs Jesus!" based upon our Gospel reading. Pastor Emery and Vickie are on a short vacation with their family and will return late Wednesday afternoon. If you need pastoral care, you may contact an elder for help, or you may contact Rev.
