WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning, especially our guests. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

OUR READER for this morning's worship service is Doug Hartner. Preparing and helping distribute Holy Communion today are Aaron von Rentzell and Dwight Kahny. The reader next Sunday will be Logan Stelling.

CANDLE LIGHTERS this morning are Keaton Timmerman and Connor von Rentzell. Next Sunday morning they will be Nicholas Timmerman and Kaden Polt.

HOLY COMMUNION REMINDER: If you plan to receive Holy Communion today, please register with the elders in the secretary's office before the worship service begins.

THE ANNUAL SENIOR CITIZENS' DINNER, sponsored by the members of the Ladies Aid and Thrivent Financial, for members of Immanuel age 70 and over is being held this noon in the fellowship hall. All members of Immanuel age 70 and over and their spouses are invited to join us for a noon meal, fellowship and entertainment.

THE LYF IS SELLING JOURNEY OF FAITH CANDLES AND RADA CUTLERY to raise money for those attending the National Youth Gathering being held in Minneapolis – July 2019. They will be selling now until the end of October. Thank you for supporting the LYF and for helping offset the cost of the Gathering.

A NEW HEARING ASSIST SYSTEM HAS BEEN INSTALLED and is operational. For anyone wanting to try a unit out, they are in a basket by the mailboxes. Just pick one up before church and return it after the service.

THE LWML FALL GATHERING will be held next Saturday, October 27th at Bazile Mills. Members willing to attend will meet to carpool at 8:00 a.m.


A NEW MEMBER CLASS will begin Sunday, November 4, immediately following worship. Please pass the word and contact Pastor if you or anyone you know may be interested.

MARK NOVEMBER 5 ON YOUR CALENDAR. Rev. Dr. Lamb will return to Immanuel and lead us in a discussion and completion of a Durable Power of Attorney. In addition, Pastor Emery and Todd Stonacek will discuss Christian funeral planning.

FOLLOWING DENISE'S RETIREMENT AT THE END OF OCTOBER, DEB GUTZ will be the new church secretary. We welcome Deb, and ask the Lord's blessings, as she returns as Immanuel's secretary.

A FAREWELL RETIREMENT RECEPTION will be held on Sunday, November 11, immediately following worship services. Denise has faithfully served Immanuel since April 1985! We will also be honoring Clarice Gansebom and Wes Kumm, who have also retired from their service here at Immanuel. We give thanks to God for these members! Everyone is encouraged to stay for cake and coffee.

The LYF will be serving a meal at the Norfolk Rescue Mission on November 17, 2018. They will also be collecting items for the Mission's pantry. Any donations are accepted. The items most needed at this time are: Instant Potatoes -- Lipton Onion Soup Mix -- Cream of Mushroom soup -- Canned Tuna and Chicken. There will be boxes in the entry of both sides of church to place donated items into. Thank you to everyone for supporting the LYF and their servant event.

Windsor Loin Dinner Committee would like to THANK everyone who worked, prepared and brought food or helped in any way for our annual dinner. What a success and joy when we share and serve together! There are still some Windsor loins in the freezer available for purchase in the kitchen. Any that are left will be sold at a price of $3.00/loin, packaged in quantities as is.

New Parents Bible Study – A new Bible study, "When Strong Moms Feel Quite Weak" will be held during the month of November. It will held at 10:30 am during the Sunday School hour.

Immanuel will be hosting a benefit for Pastor Tim Beckendorf on November 18th from 4-7 pm. There will be a freewill donation meal, silent auction items and a bake sale/garage sale. The committee is asking for any organization or individuals to contribute items for the silent auction, bake sale or garage sale. If anyone would like to contribute, please contact one of the committee members listed below as soon as possible. Also, if anyone would like to help work at the benefit, please let the committee know. The Beckendorfs sincerely appreciate any and all contributions or donations. Thank you!

JOIN US ... for "Being Faithful in a Secular Age – Why Don't My Children Go to Church?" presented by Rev. Thomas Brown, pastor at Zion Lutheran Church, Mitchell, SD. Pastor Brown's presentation will be a part of the Zone 3 Rally of the Lutheran Laymen's League hosted by Zion Lutheran LLL, Plainview (102 N 6th St, on Highway 20), on Sunday, November 11, beginning at 3 p.m. Supper will be served at 5 p.m. Entertainment will be by Joanna Leckband from Trinity, Foster.
