WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning, especially our guests. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

 

OUR READER for this morning's worship service is Dwight Kahny. Preparing and helping distribute Holy Communion today are Ed Brummels and Doug Hartner. The reader next Sunday will be Landon Stelling.

 

CANDLE LIGHTERS this morning are Madeline Huwaldt and Diandra Polt. Next Sunday morning they will be Kennedy Johnson and Connor Gutz.

 

HOLY COMMUNION REMINDER: If you plan to receive Holy Communion today, please register with the elders in the secretary's office before the worship service begins.

 

PARENT'S BIBLE STUDY. . . Starts today!

It's not too late- join us for a five week Bible study of the parenting book. "The Strong-Willed Child". We will meet in the room north of the kitchen during the Sunday School hour.

 

THE LUTHERAN HOUR—"Bringing Christ to the Nations and the Nations to the Church" on WJAG each Sunday at 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM. The Duane and Delores Kumm family is sponsoring today's Lutheran Hour broadcast in memory of their parents. Duane was called to eternal glory in February 2000, and Delores was called to eternal glory on May 16, 2018.

WORD HAS BEEN RECEIVED THAT MR. ARNOLD HOLZERLAND, former teacher at Immanuel Lutheran School, passed away last Sunday. Funeral services were held Friday morning, September 14th. If you would like to send his family a sympathy card, Barb's mailing address is as follows:

AN LCEF PRESENTATION will be done by Nate Meier, LCEF vice president for the Nebraska District, on Wednesday evening, September 19th at 7:00 p.m. He will show us population information and trends for the Osmond area that can be used to help us focus our ministry efforts to bring the Gospel to as many people as possible. EVERYONE is invited to join us – please do!

 

THE MONTHY "CARD PARTY" will be held Tuesday, September 18th at 2:00 p.m. in the party room at Johnson Park Estates. You are invited to join us for an hour of fellowship as we prepare greeting cards for the October birthdays and anniversaries.

 

IMMANUEL'S SECRETARY IS RETIRING ON OCTOBER 31ST. If you would be interested in applying for the position, a Job Description and application form is available in the secretary's office. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

 

THE CPH 2018 BIBLE SALE is now underway and will be going on until the end of September. Please check out the poster on the easel in the rear of the church. All orders must be placed by next Sunday, September 23rd, in order to get them forwarded to CPH by September 30th and receive the sale price. These Bibles make great Confirmation Gifts as well as Christmas.

 

PASTOR EMERY WANTS TO VISIT YOU! If you would like to volunteer for a time for Pastor to stop at your home for a brief visit, please contact him by text or phone. He would like to visit every member. Mornings, afternoons or evenings are available. Please let him know when he can stop and see you.

 

LIFE SUNDAY will be observed, here at Immanuel on Sunday, September 30th. Special Sunday activities will include an 8:30 a.m. regular Adult Bible Class followed by a 9:30 a.m. Worship with guest Preacher Rev. Dr. James Lamb. Special presentations will be held at 10:30 a.m., 1-2 p.m. and 2-3 p.m. A Soup Competition and Luncheon will be held at noon. Soup Competition: We invite members of the congregation to join in a friendly soup competition, which will also be used for our luncheon. Attendees will vote for their favorite soup by their dollar bills. The proceeds will benefit a charity. Call or talk to Pastor to sign on and get cooking! A SIGN-UP SHEET FOR THOSE PLANNING TO ENTER THE SOUP COMPETITION IS POSTED IN THE REAR OF THE CHURCH.

 

THE IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CEMETERY will be mowed on Thursday, September 20th at 6:00 p.m. The following members of Immanuel are asked to please come and help mow:

Women and older children are also welcome to help mow. We need riders, push mowers, and trimmers in order to do a good job.

OUR ANNUAL WINDSOR LOIN DINNER IS SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14.The committee members have placed the sheets with your assignments in your mailbox or mailed them to you. Every member of the church who is out of school should have received one. If you did not receive one, please let a committee member know. If you are unable to do your assigned work or food duty, we would appreciate a call as soon as possible. Thank you.
