WE WELCOME everyone who has worshipped with us this morning, especially  our guests.  We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

 

THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning’s worship service are Ben and Brock Johnson.  Next Sunday they will be Paige Schultze and Hannah Gutz.

 

THANK YOU TO CONNOR VON RENTZELL for playing the piano during the offering this morning.

 

WE REMEMBER IN OUR PRAYERS TODAY:  Carol Kumm, Laurel Krohn, Deloris Wiese, Dorothy Anson, Danny Anderson, Dennis Johnson, Bonnie Korth, Mary Salazar, Carole Reber, Tom Hinds and Debra Scott.  We also include the family of Darrel Kahny in our prayers, as he entered God’s eternal keeping last weekend.  We also give thanks with Beth Johnson and Matt Martin, as they were united in marriage yesterday in Arizona.  If you have prayer requests for any members of your family or friends, please notify Pastor or the church secretary to have them added or removed from the list.

 WE WELCOME CHRIS AND ROBIN WAGNER AND DAUGHTERS, RILEY, ERIN AND MEAGAN as new members of Immanuel, as they have requested to become members.  We welcome them into our church family, here at Immanuel.

 

THE LADIES AID NOW HAS A NEW SHIPMENT OF CARDS AND NAPKINS.  They are on display in the display case in the fellowship hall.  Please stop and check them out.

THE LYF WOULD LIKE TO THANK  the following adults and students for their help packaging meals that are sent to children around the world.  The LYF assembled meals for Pack Away Hunger Day, which was October 19, 2013 at Cox Activities Center at Northeast College in Norfolk.  The people involved were Linda Krohn, Joan Kumm, Ronda Wiese, Caleb Krohn, Erica Slagle, Karli Ferry, Cierra Pfanstiel, Kendyl Koehler, Hailey Johnson, Hannah Gutz, Seth Gutz, Sam Johnson, Chelsea Wiese, Taylor Cook, Blake Brummels, Paige Schultze, and Maggie Kruse.

 

A LADIES BEIGE JACKET was found at the City Hall following the church dinner.  It is now hanging in the west entry of the church.  If you are missing your jacket, please check it out as you leave the church this morning.

 

ZION LUTHERAN SCHOOL, PLAINVIEW will host their PTL Soup Supper and Auction this evening from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.  Chicken Noodle and Chili Soup will be served, with a Silent Auction from 5:00-7:00 p.m.,       Entertainment – 6:00 p.m. and Live Auction at 7:00 p.m.  Come and support Zion Lutheran School, 102 N. 6th St., Plainview, NE.  Proceeds will be supplemented by Thrivent.

 

THE THRIVENT PIERCE COUNTY NE CHAPTER LEADER ELECTION will be held next Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Pierce Senior Center or the Plainview Senior Center.  Please join us for an all member social/dinner at one of the above locations.  Take a moment to vote for your 2013 Pierce County NE Chapter Leaders.  A Thrivent Representative will be present to host the event.  Reservations need to be made no later than Wednesday, October 30th.  MUST RSVP:  Suzie Wachter, (402)329-6869 or email:  jswachter@ptcnet.net

ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN is a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in cooperation with Lutheran Hour Ministries, LCMS World Mission, and LCMS World Christian ministries.  It is a hand-on, Christian, humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization built on a network of volunteers.  Its 18 regional branches collect, pack and ship donated clothing, relief supplies and humanitarian aid in America and around the world.

Come support Orphan Grain Train and other mission projects by attending the Big Mission Event scheduled for Sunday, November 17, at Divots Convention Center in Norfolk.  The Big Mission Event, sponsored by Servants of the Savior of Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, begins with a 5:00 p.m. social hour, followed by a tenderloin medallion dinner served at 6:00 p.m.  Gary Thies, Mission Development Counselor for Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod will be the Master of Ceremonies as well as the featured speaker for the evening.  The Event also features both a live and silent auction.  Tickets are available for a donation of $50 per person from Christ Lutheran Church, 605 South Fifth Street, Norfolk (371-1210).  No tickets will be sold at the door.
