WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this joyful Easter morning, especially our guests. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

 

THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning's Sunrise Service are Makayla Boyle and Kelly Schuettler. For the 9:30 a.m. service they are Jared Bessmer and Madeline Huwaldt. Next Sunday they will be Makenzie Johnson and Mary Kahny.

 

PLEASE NOTE!! The orders of worship for both the Easter Sunrise and the Easter 9:30 a.m. worship service are included in today's bulletin. Please bring them back with you when you return for the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

 

AN EASTER BREAKFAST, hosted by the members of the LYF, will be held this morning following the Sunrise Service in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

 

THERE WILL BE NO SUNDAY SCHOOL OR BIBLE CLASSES THIS MORNING.

 

THANK YOU to the members of the Youth Group, and everyone else who helped make our Easter Worship Services extra special this morning.

 

WE THANK everyone who furnished Easter Lilies to decorate our church this morning. You may pick them up after worship services next Sunday, April 23rd.

 

PASTOR EMERY IS WEARING A CHASABLE at the 9:30 a.m. worship service. This vestment is usually worn for festival Sundays in the Lutheran Church. It symbolizes charity, which is particularly fitting for Easter as we consider Christ's charity for all mankind through his death and resurrection.

 

QUILT TYING will be held tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.

 

THE QUARTERLY VOTERS' MEETING will be held on Wednesday evening, April 19th at 8:00 p.m.

 

THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY will be held on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m.

 

AN ABSENT SAINTS MEETING will be held on Thursday evening, April 20th at 6:00 p.m. at the parsonage.

 

WORSHIP SERVICES WITH HOLY COMMUNION will be held next Sunday morning, April 23rd.

 

LWML JOINT EVENT -- Nebraska North and Nebraska South Districts are joining together on April 22nd at Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island to sew together Pajamas, Therapy Pillow Sets, Therapy Snack Bags and Developmental Hearts. Needed are many volunteers to come and bring your sewing machines, sergers, and other sewing supplies. Bible Studies will be held as sell. For the pajamas, our Plainview Zone has been assigned to bring 2 yards x 45" flannel fabric along with a t-shirt to match. Our t-shirt sizes are to be children's size 8-12 and women's XXL. You do not need to be a LWML member to join in. If you would like to donate fabric/t-shirts, please bring to church or contact Deb Gutz.

 

ADOPT-A-COLLEGE-STUDENT! When we sent the cards and gift cards in December, we heard from so many kids saying how much they appreciated them, and what it meant to them. They appreciate knowing that we as a church are thinking of them. This time we would like to get more of you involved by adopting 1 or more college students for this semester.

We are currently have 30 college students who could use some extra love and support, especially as they approach the end of the year and final exams.

Adoption requirements are: Send a care package to the student to help them prepare for finals week. Care Packages must be sent by April 25th and must include: goodies (store bought or homemade), a letter from Pastor Emery (just ask Denise for a copy), and a note of encouragement from you. Optional items: a gift card to a fast food restaurant (for a late-study night snack run), and something fun (toy, game, etc.) Choices will be given by random selection and can remain anonymous if you so choose.

We will have a deadline date and a list of college names and addresses available next week. If interested, please contact Pastor Emery or Denise and they will give you the student's name and mailing information.

 

LWML (PLAINVIEW ZONE) SPRING GATHERING: The Spring Rally will be on Tuesday, April 25th at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Orchard. Registration will be from 5-5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:00 p.m. The speaker will be Nebraska District North LWML President Crystal Miller.

 

GIFTS FROM THE HEART – Albuquerque 2017 -- Our LWML society has chosen to give Gift Cards at the National LWML Convention as our Item for the National LWML convention this summer. $10 or $25 amounts recommended to Walmart, K-Mart, Kohl's or J C Penney. Donations of gift cards may be given to President Deb Gutz. If you would like to donate cash, she would be glad to get gift cards for you. These will go to four different agencies – Albuquerque Christian Children (Privately funded foster care that emphasizes Christianity), Care Net (works with unplanned pregnancies – Pro-Life!), Lutheran World Relief (focuses on international disaster relief and recovery), and Ysleta Lutheran Mission (provides ministry and human care on both sides of the US/Mexico border).

We could use 20 to 30 Easter Lilies. If you would like yours back, please make sure to mark it with your name.

 

PLEASE NOTE—Holy Communion will not be held next Sunday, Easter Sunday, but will be held on the fourth Sunday, April 23rd, instead. Mark your calendars.

WASHING OF REBIRTH: Lux Landry, daughter of Jarrod and Amanda Paulsen, born January 6, 2017 will be brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in our service this morning. Kelsey Nuesch, Max Johnson, Emmett Hoppe, Ethan Hoppe and Riley Schumacher will serve as sponsors. We thank the LORD for making Lux His child and heir through Holy Baptism, and we pray that she will continue to live in her baptismal grace all the days of her life, and into eternity. THE FREEWILL DONATIONS COLLECTED AT LAST WEEK'S FELLOWSHIP HOUR TOTALED $164.00. This collection will be sent to the Ladies Aid's Mission Project, Seminary Student Josh Vogel and family.

 

THURSDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY will be held Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m.

MISSION CENTRAL: Neal Kurtz of O'Neill called to say that they are taking a bus to Mission Central and that they have extra seats, if someone would like to go. They will be coming through Osmond on their way on Saturday, March 25th. If you are interested in going, please contact Neal at: Phone—402-992-1791 or email—nikurtz@outlook.com. The price which includes a noon meal is adults- $30 and kids $20. If you would like to attend, but cannot afford the $30, scholarships to assist are available.

 

ATTENTION MEN!! Did you wear the right jacket home after church services two weeks ago. Please check to see if you have the right jacket. A gray jacket was left in the west entrance of the church and it doesn't belong to Wes.

LWML JOINT EVENT -- Nebraska North and Nebraska South Districts are joining together on April 22nd at Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island to sew together Pajamas, Therapy Pillow Sets, Therapy Snack Bags and Developmental Hearts. Needed are many volunteers to come and bring your sewing machines, sergers, and other sewing supplies. Bible Studies will be held as sell. For the pajamas, our Plainview Zone has been assigned to bring 2 yards x 45" flannel fabric along with a t-shirt to match. Our t-shirt sizes are to be children's size 8-12 and women's XXL. You do not need to be a LWML member to join in. If you would like to donate fabric/t-shirts, please bring to church or contact Deb Gutz.

MISSION CENTRAL: Neal Kurtz of O'Neill called to say that they are taking a bus to Mission Central and that they have extra seats, if someone would like to go. The price which includes a noon meal is adults- $30 and kids $20. Scholarships are available.

On Feb. 24-25, we need your help to remove dead trees, clear overgrown areas, clear hiking trails and paths, trim trees, and create burn piles. BENEFIT PLANNED ... A freewill offering benefit soup supper will be held for Gayle and Shelly Sellin this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran, Plainview, fellowship hall. Shelley has had ongoing complications following knee surgery, requiring multiple trips for medical care to Omaha, Kearney and Rochester, MN. On the menu are chili, chicken noodle soup, crackers, relish and dessert. Those attending can also register for door prizes. Thrivent Financial is assisting with expenses, with benefit proceeds to go directly to pay medical and related expenses.

 

THRIVENT CHOICE DOLLARS: Since the program's inception in 2010, Immanuel has received $17,666.00 in choice dollars. 2016 year to date we have received $1,649. The deadline to designate your 2016 dollars is March 31. If you don't designate where you want the money to go, it goes back into a general pool of money.

WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning, especially our guests. We wish you a Happy New Year and hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

 

THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning's worship service are Tyler von Rentzell and Zachary Alderson. Next Sunday they will be Shelby Stelling and Grace Broekemeier.

 

OUR READER for this morning's worship service is Mike Gutz. Next Sunday's reader will be Ed Brummels. Communion assistant today is Kent Gansebom.

 

HOLY COMMUNION REMINDER: If you plan to receive Holy Communion today, please register with the elders in the secretary's office before the worship service begins.

 

THE LUTHERAN HOUR: The members of the Ladies Aid are sponsoring a broadcast for the Lutheran Hour on KVSH at Valentine, 940 AM, at 11:10 a.m. and KBRX at O'Neill, 102.9 FM, at 12:30 p.m. today.

 

QUILT TYING will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m.

 

MIDWEEK AND CONFIRMATION CLASSES will meet on Wednesday.

 

BIBLE STUDY will be held this Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m.

 

AN ABSENT SAINTS MEETING will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, February 8th at the home of Dwight and Donna Kahny.

 

LADIES AID will be held Thursday afternoon, February 9th beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Average attendance was 26 with a total monthly offering of $47.14 and average offering of $11.78 each week.

 

BENEFIT PLANNED...A freewill offering benefit soup supper will be held for Gayle and Shelly Sellin next Sunday, February 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Zion Lutheran, Plainview, fellowship hall. Shelley has had ongoing complications following knee surgery, requiring multiple trips for medical care to Omaha, Kearney and Rochester, MN. On the menu are chili, chicken noodle soup, crackers, relish and dessert. Those attending can also register for door prizes. Thrivent Financial is assisting with expenses, with benefit proceeds to go directly to pay medical and related expenses.

 

THE MEMBERS OF THE LWML are reminded that they will pack Cheer Plates next Sunday, February 12th, following the morning worship. Each LWML member is asked to bring 1 dozen items to pack on the plates.
