THE SECRETARY WILL BE OUT OF THE OFFICE tomorrow, Monday, May 14th.

 

MONDAY IS THE LAST DAY OF 4 year-old preschool and Tuesday is the last day of 3 year-old preschool for this school year.

 

PRESCHOOL GRADUATION will be held on Wednesday evening, May 16th beginning at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

 

LOCAL FOOD BANK NEEDS: Our Osmond Food Bank is in urgent need of the following supplies—Breakfast cereal, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, and laundry detergent. If you prefer to donate cash, which is used for fresh food at the grocery store, or gas at our local station, that is very welcome also. Please leave your donations at the back of the church or give your cash donations to Pastor or Denise.

 

THE IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CEMETERY will be mowed on Wednesday evening, May 16th beginning at 6:00 p.m. The following members of Immanuel are asked to please come and help mow:

2018 NEBRASKA DISTRICT CONVENTION: Members of the Nebraska District who wish to attend the 2018 Nebraska District Convention are reminded that registration materials are available from the church secretary. There is also more information and a print-ready registration form on the district website, http://convention.ndlcms.org/guests/. Completed forms and registration fee must be returned to the District Office no later than next Friday, May 11th. I WOULD LIKE TO PERSONALLY INVITE ALL THE TEENAGE LADIES OF OUR CONGREAGTATION to the LWML Convention being held in Norfolk on June 22 and 23. Last convention we were honored to have 4 young ladies join us. This year we are excited to have a deaconess that will focus only on our teens and helping them to have fun while serving their Lord. CHURCH TABLES: We still have 1 table left. If you would like it, it is set up in the new fellowship hall and the price is marked on a piece of paper on the table top. MISSION CENTRAL TRIP: Zion Lutheran Church of Plainview is sponsoring a trip to Mission Central on July 21, 2018. They are either going to carpool or have a bus. This is 'To Be Announced'. WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning, especially our guests, new members and high school graduates.

TODAY, WE WELCOME ALL OF THE NEW MEMBERS WHO HAVE JOINED OUR CONGREGATION within the last year. A reception will be held following our worship service to welcome them. Everyone is invited to stay and welcome them as members of God's family, here at Immanuel.

 

Today, Brian Evans joins us as an adult confirmand, Scott Simonsen joins us through profession of faith, and Tami Wolle joins us by transfer from a sister LCMS congregation. We also welcome Paige Kumm and Keith and Sharon Bessmer, who joined our congregation earlier in the year.

THANK YOU! We would like to thank everyone who helped in any way in getting our new bell tower up. Whether it was your prayers, donations, manual labor preparing and pouring the cement pad, or stopping by Thursday for a little help in the wind, it was all very much appreciated. A special thank you to Adam Rice who painted the bell and tower, Dennis and Tim Schultze for building the bell tower and wheel, and to Michael Koehler, Brad Ekberg and Ross Stelling for the use of their equipment on Thursday while putting it up on the pad. ADOPT-A-COLLEGE STUDENT!!! Time is running out and names must be picked up today in order to get the care packages to the students in time for finals, as some college finals begin this week. Donna Kahny is sitting at a table in the rear of the church with names and mailing addresses of college students. Please stop by this morning and pick up a name. The college students could use some extra love and support, especially as they approach the end of the year and final exams. Adoption requirements are to send a care package to the student to help them prepare for finals week. Donna also has a list of ideas for items to be packed in the care packages is also available.

 

THE LWML SPRING GATHERING previously scheduled for Saturday, April 14th was postponed due to the weather. It will now be held, here at Immanuel, this Tuesday evening, April 24th, with registration from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Rev. Michael Awe, pastor of Hope Lutheran Church, South Sioux City, Iowa will be the guest speaker.

 

THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet this Wednesday, April 25th, at 1:30 p.m.

 

ATTENTION ALL 2018 GRADUATES OF IMMANUEL! Immanuel graduates are invited to High School Baccalaureate at Immanuel during the morning worship service next Sunday morning, April 29th. Graduates are reminded to bring their caps and gowns.

WASHING OF REBIRTH: Rowan Lynn Gansebom and Barrett James Gansebom, children of Gabe and Candice Gansebom, born October 10, 2016, will be brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in our service this morning. Colten and Jessica DeLong will serve as sponsors. We thank the LORD for making Rowan and Barrett his children and heirs through Holy Baptism, and we pray that they will continue to live in their baptismal grace all the days of their lives and into eternity. CHOIR MEMBERS ARE REMINDED that next Sunday, April 22nd, will be the last choir practice for the season.

 

NOTE TO PARENTS OF COLLEGE STUDENTS: We are trying to update our list of names and addresses of our current college students and members serving in the military, so that we can send letters and care packages to them to show them that we appreciate and support them. Please send their currents addresses to Denise, either by phone, email or note. Thank You.

 

ADOPT-A-COLLEGE STUDENT!! It's time again to adopt-a-college student as they prepare for their end of the year finals. The college students could use some extra love and support, especially as they approach the end of the year and final exams.

Adoption requirements are: Send a care package to the student to help them prepare for finals week. A list of college student names and addresses will be available in the secretary's office by next weekend. If interested, please contact Pastor Emery or Denise and they will give you the student's name and mailing information. We also have several Military members in our congregation, who would appreciate a note of encouragement from their home congregation.

WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this joyful Easter morning, especially our guests. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

 

THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning's Sunrise Service are Shelby Stelling and Kennady Johnson. For the 9:30 a.m. service they are Grace Broekemeier and Madeline Huwaldt. Next Sunday they will be Keaton Timmerman and Graysen Schultze.

 

PLEASE NOTE!! The orders of worship for both the Easter Sunrise and the Easter 9:30 a.m. worship service are included in today's bulletin. Please bring them back with you when you return for the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

 

AN EASTER BREAKFAST, hosted by the members of the LYF, will be held this morning following the Sunrise Service in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

 

THERE WILL BE NO SUNDAY SCHOOL OR BIBLE CLASSES THIS MORNING.

WE THANK everyone who provided funding for Easter Lilies to decorate our church this morning. If you would still like to provide funds of $15 to purchase one of the Lilies, please contact either Pastor or Denise. You may pick them up after worship services next Sunday, April 8th.

 

PASTOR EMERY IS WEARING A CHASUBLE at the 9:30 a.m. worship service. This vestment is usually worn for festival Sundays in the Lutheran Church. It symbolizes charity, which is particularly fitting for Easter as we consider Christ's charity for all mankind through his death and resurrection.

 

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR TERRY CLAUSEN will be held here, at Immanuel, on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, also here at Immanuel.

 

THE NOON LUNCHEON following Terry Clausen's funeral on Tuesday will be held at the Osmond City Hall. If you were planning to bring food for the luncheon, please bring either, cake, bars or cookies, as the remainder of the meal is being catered. Please bring your food to the city hall by 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

 

WORSHIP SERVICES WITH HOLY COMMUNION will be held next Sunday morning, April 8th and also on Sunday, April 15th.

 

LWML (PLAINVIEW ZONE) SPRING GATHERING: The Spring Rally will be on Saturday, April 14th here at Immanuel Lutheran Church, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Our guest speaker is Rev. Michael Awe from Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

 

THE LYF IS COLLECTING ITEMS FOR HYGEINE KITS FOR ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN. Their goal is to collect and deliver 150 kits. Items needed to complete kits are bath towel, wash cloth, bath-size bar of soap, adult-size toothbrush, sturdy comb, Band-Aids (1/2" or ¾"). Linens should be in good condition and dark colors are recommended. Content items must be new and can be any brand. There are boxes in the entryways at both sides of church for anyone wishing to donate items for this mission. Thank you for your support of the LYF.

 

A BRACELET was found in the church following Deloris Wiese's funeral. If you are missing a bracelet, you may claim it in the secretary's office.

THE FLOWERS AT THE FRONT OF THE CHURCH are from the funeral of Marlin (Smoky) Schultze. We thank his family for sharing them with us and offer our sincere sympathy.

THE 8TH GRADE CONFIRMATION CLASS will meet at 3:45 p.m., next Wednesday, March 21st.

 

LENTEN WORSHIP SERVICES will be held on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m.

 

THE MEMBERS OF THE 7TH & 8TH GRADE CONFIRMATION CLASS will host the fellowship hour following this week's Lenten Worship Service. A freewill donation will be received for missionary Sarah Kanoy.

 

CONFIRMATION PRACTICE AND PICTURES will be held next Saturday morning, March 24th at 9:00 a.m.

 

THE CHOIR will practice next Sunday morning March 25th at 8:30 a.m.

 

THE SUNDAY SCHOOL will be leading a processional for worship next Sunday, March 25th. It is Palm Sunday and the children's participation, by carrying palm branches, will be a blessing to everyone who worships with us! We will meet in the fellowship hall at 9:15 a.m.

THE ANNUAL CONFIRMATION RECOGNITION NIGHT, hosted by the LWML and Thrivent, will be held next Sunday evening, March 18th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Guest speaker will be Pastor Bucklew of Zion Lutheran Church, Plainview, NE. LWML members will reveal their Secret Pals and lunch will follow the program. All LWML members and their spouses, and the chairmen of each organization of our church are invited to attend.

THE SUNDAY SCHOOL will be leading a processional for worship on Sunday, March 25th. It is Palm Sunday and the children's participation, by carrying palm branches, will be a blessing to everyone who worships with us! We will meet in the fellowship hall at 9:15 a.m.

WASHING OF REBIRTH: Brigham Jon, infant son of Matthew and Lacy Stelling, born January 20, 2018, will be brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in our service this morning. We thank the LORD for making Brigham His child and heir through Holy Baptism, and we pray that he will continue to live in his baptismal grace all the days of his life and into eternity. It will be held at 10:30 a.m. in Zion's Auditorium and a free will donation will be taken.

All proceeds will go toward a new mixer board for the auditorium's

sound system, the vicarage fund and Mission Central.

 

MITES FOR MISSIONS—The LWML Mite Box is on the stand beside the bulletin boxes. We continue to collect for our Mission Projects and invite anyone to share your coins with us. We appreciate and thank you for your donations to mites. If you have a Mite Box at home and would like to bring it in and empty it in the "Big Mite Box", please feel free to do so.
