OUR READER for this morning is Mike Johnson. Our read for Wednesday's Advent worship will be Ed Brummels and next Sunday our reader will be Doug Hartner. Helping with communion today is Dwight Kahny and Aaron von Rentzell.

LWML CHRISTMAS PARTY is being held today, starting at 11:30 a.m. with a social time, then dinner. There will be a short program. Offerings will be taken to our projects if you'd like to contribute to them: 1) LBT – Beckendorf Ministry; 2) Little Red Stockings to Mites and 3) Lutheran Family Services.

ADVENT DEVOTIONS are in a box on the bulletin ledge. Everyone is welcome to take one! Take one for a friend and/or neighbor! More can be printed if they are gone!

FOOD DRIVE – Immanuel Lutheran Church will be collecting food items for the local food pantry through Sunday, December 8th.

MIDWEEK ADVENT WORSHIP SERVICES begin this Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. A Hymn Sing will be held before services at 6:45. Come early and enjoy singing your favorite Advent/Christmas Hymns.

THE LADIES AID/LWML BAZAAR will be held this Friday, December 6th at the Church Fellowship Hall from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We will feature a craft and bake sale. We are also serving chili, chicken noodle soup, taverns, hot dogs, pie, desserts and coffee. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

SUNDAY SCHOOOL CHRISTMAS EVE PROGRAM PRACTICES will be on Saturdays, December 7, 14 and 21 for Pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. They will run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Please have your child there if they will be participating. Thank you!

LUTHERAN HOUR TELEVISION Today on KCAU-TV, Sioux City – 10:00 a.m.: The Lutheran Hour Animated series – The City that Forgot About Christmas – Benji thinks the hustle and bustle of Christmas only makes people more grouchy, but Grandfather has a different view. @ 10:30 a.m. – Worship service led by Rev. Christopher McCarthy of First Lutheran in Wall, SD and Emmanuel Lutheran in Creighton, SD bases his message, "Hosanna! Son of David!" on Matthew 21:1-11. The program is interpreted and closed captioned for the hearing impaired.

ANNUAL COOKIE SALE: On Friday, December 13, the United Methodist Women will be hosting their Annual Christmas Cookie Sale, Tea Room and Christmas Rummage Room from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Osmond Methodist Church fellowship hall.

Vance and Linda Becker, LCMS missionaries in Kenya, Africa as the featured presenters for the evening. The Big Mission Event begins with a 5:00 p.m. social hour, followed by a 6:00 p.m. dinner. BENEFIT TO SUPPORT AMBER (Wattier) BROWN is being held today from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Amber, along with her family have been fighting Multiple Sclerosis for almost 13 years. With this disease, her best chance is to receive an adult stem cell transplant, which is not approved for MS in the U.S. This treatment will take her to Puebla, Mexico, for approximately 23 days. There will be a Free Will Offering meal, of pulled pork, hot dogs, cheesy potatoes and bars, an Auction, Silent Auction and Bake sale.

GOLGOTHA LUTHERAN CHURCH of rural Wausa is having their annual Harvest Dinner today from 11:00 – 1:00. On the menu: Swiss steak, potatoes and gravy, corn, salad bar, and dessert bar. The cost for the meal will be $10 for adults; $6 for K-6th grade; and free for preschool.

LLL FALL RALLY: All are welcome to attend the Fall LLL Rally at First Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomfield NE today at 2:00 pm. Pastor Levi Willms from St. John's, Yankton SD will be presenting on Inter-generational Discipleship. An Oktoberfest meal will follow the meeting, which will include brats, potatoes, green beans, and beer. A free will offering will be collected for the meal. ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN is a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in cooperation with Lutheran Hour Ministries, LCMS World Mission, and LCMS World Christian ministries. It is a hands-on, Christian, humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization built on a network of volunteers. Its nearly 20 regional branches collect, pack and ship donated clothing, relief supplies and humanitarian aid in American and around the world. THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIALS! The congregation of Immanuel gratefully acknowledges the memorial funds given in loving memory of Deloris Wiese, Marlin (Smoky) Schultze and Helen Kumm. These funds were used for the purchase and installation of the handicap door opener in the west entryway of the church. It is greatly appreciated by those who enter there.

BENEFIT TO SUPPORT AMBER (Wattier) BROWN will be held on November 3rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Amber, along with her family have been fighting Multiple Sclerosis for almost 13 years. With this disease, her best chance is to receive an adult stem cell transplant, which is not approved for MS in the U.S. This treatment will take her to Puebla, Mexico, for approximately 23 days. There will be a Free Will Offering meal, of pulled pork, hot dogs, cheesy potatoes and bars, an Auction, Silent Auction and Bake sale. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Missy Hoppe, Donna Kahny, Jeni Krienert, Sarah Morfeld or Jenny Wingert.

GOLGOTHA LUTHERAN CHURCH of rural Wausa will have their annual Harvest Dinner on Sunday, November 3, 2019, from 11:00 – 1:00. On the menu: swiss steak, potatoes and gravy, corn, salad bar, and dessert bar. The cost for the meal will be $10 for adults; $6 for K-6th grade; and free for preschool. And what's more, this is an opportunity to share our abundant blessings in support of mission activities around the world. Hosted by Servants of the Savior from Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk. The Big Mission Event will be held on Sunday, November 17, at Divots Conference Center, Norfolk. The social hour will be at 5:00 p.m. with a tenderloin medallion dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Featured presenters for the evening will be Rev. Vance and Linda Becker, LCMS Missionaries in Kenya, Africa. LCMS Mission Counselor will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Tickets are available for a cost of $50 per person from Christ Lutheran Church, 605 South 5th Street, Norfolk (371-1210). No tickets will be sold at the door.

THANK YOU! The congregation of Immanuel gratefully acknowledges the memorial funds given in loving memory of Deloris Wiese, Marlin (Smoky) Schultze, and Helen Kumm. These funds were used for the purchase and installation of the handicap door opener in the west entryway of the church. It is greatly appreciated by those who enter there.

THE TRUSTEES are looking for 2-3 volunteers to form a committee for replacing flooring in certain areas of the church. If you are interested in helping, please contact one of the trustees or the church office.

THE LADIES AID would like to express their thanks to the Leckband family for coming and entertaining at the Senior Citizens Dinner. Thanks to the 7th and 8th graders who helped with waiting tables and their parents for going the extra mile so their children could be here. CHRIST LUTHERAN, BAZILLE MILLS will be having their annual Sauerbraten (marinated roast beef) and Ham Dinner TODAY in their church basement. Sauerbraten, ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, salad bar, dessert bar, and drinks will be served. There will also be craft and bake sale tables. Serving is from 4-8 pm. Adults $10.00, 10 and under $5.00, and 3 years and under free.

TODAY IS NATIONAL LIFE CHAIN SUNDAY. We invite you to form a chain of people that are opposed to the killing of unborn children. Many people from Northeast Nebraska will be participating with us today to proclaim that abortion is wrong. Please join us at about 1:45 pm so we can be in place and ready to go when Life Chain officially starts at 2:00 pm. We will have the signs for you to hold up and they can be picked up in the parking lots of Walgreens, BankFirst, CVS or Michael's Photography. If you cannot stand for the entire hour, please feel free to bring a chair along to use. We will be organizing at the intersection of 13th Street and Norfolk Avenue and spreading out from there.

PASTOR ALLEN HENDERSON, St. Paul's, Fort Dodge, was robbed and murdered Wednesday evening outside St. Paul Lutheran Church. We pray for the Lord's comfort and grace not only for his immediate family but also the family of St. Paul Lutheran Church. The probable assailant has been arrested. We ask the Lord to help him see the error of his ways and repentant of this.

SPECIAL OFFERING: Today we are celebrating Lutheran Women's Missionary League Sunday. We will have a special offering as you leave the church for our "Mite Box for Missions". This offering will go towards our mission projects which currently are – Teach Me Too – Preschoolers With Learning Needs, and Chaplain Scholarships for Medical Mission Trips, which will ease the burden of Pastors who have the heart to do God's work by serving our brothers and sisters around the world. Please look at the display table in the back of church, which explains these projects.

Children's meal is a choice between half a Hot Beef Sandwich or a Hot Dog. A Country Store will also be provided. "LIFE CHAIN" is a peaceful and prayerful witness to all of America that abortion is wrong. Will you please join us in this year's Life Chain on Sunday, October 6th? We are meeting at the intersection of 13th Street and Norfolk Avenue. Signs will be provided for everyone to hold. This event is from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Please take 1 hour out of your busy schedule to take a stand for the unborn who cannot speak for themselves. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Elders have initiated an effort to make sure all families of the congregation are contacted at least once every 6 months. Volunteers from the congregation are needed to help with 10-20 families. Please contact one of the Elders if you would like to join us. There will be a meeting tonight at 7:00 p.m. to get the ball rolling.
