OUR READER for this morning's worship service is Ed Brummels. Preparing and helping distribute Holy Communion today are Aaron von Rentzell and Dwight Kahny. The reader next Sunday will be Graysen Schultze.

 

CANDLE LIGHTERS this morning are Joshua Gansebom and Alex Kumm. Next Sunday morning they will be Ethan Pfanstiel and Zach Boyle.

 

WASHING OF REBIRTH: Rowan Lynn Gansebom and Barrett James Gansebom, children of Gabe and Candice Gansebom, born October 10, 2016, will be brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in our service this morning. Colten and Jessica DeLong will serve as sponsors. We thank the LORD for making Rowan and Barrett his children and heirs through Holy Baptism, and we pray that they will continue to live in their baptismal grace all the days of their lives and into eternity. ATTENTION ALL 2018 GRADUATES OF IMMANUEL! High School Baccalaureate at Immanuel will be held during the worship service on Sunday, April 29th, since the Prom has been postponed to Saturday, May 5th.

 

NEW MEMBER WELCOME: Everyone is invited to a reception following worship services on Sunday, April 29th, to welcome and recognize the new members of our congregation.

 

LWML MEMBERS are reminded that the Spring Gathering that was to have been held, here at Immanuel yesterday, has been postponed to Tuesday evening, April 24th, due to the weather.

 

CHOIR MEMBERS ARE REMINDED that next Sunday, April 22nd, will be the last choir practice for the season.

 

NOTE TO PARENTS OF COLLEGE STUDENTS: We are trying to update our list of names and addresses of our current college students and members serving in the military, so that we can send letters and care packages to them to show them that we appreciate and support them. Please send their currents addresses to Denise, either by phone, email or note. Thank You.

 

ADOPT-A-COLLEGE STUDENT!! It's time again to adopt-a-college student as they prepare for their end of the year finals. The college students could use some extra love and support, especially as they approach the end of the year and final exams.

Adoption requirements are: Send a care package to the student to help them prepare for finals week. A list of college student names and addresses will be available in the secretary's office by next weekend. If interested, please contact Pastor Emery or Denise and they will give you the student's name and mailing information. We also have several Military members in our congregation, who would appreciate a note of encouragement from their home congregation.

 

I WOULD LIKE TO PERSONALLY INVITE ALL THE TEENAGE LADIES OF OUR CONGREGATION TO THE LWML CONVENTION BEING HELD IN NORFOLK ON JUNE 22 AND 23. LAST CONVENTION WE WERE HONORED TO HAVE 4 YOUNG LADIES JOIN US. THIS YEAR WE ARE EXCITED TO HAVE A DEACONESS THAT WILL FOCUS ONLY ON OUR TEENS AND HELPING THEM TO HAVE FUN WHILE SERVING THEIR LORD. HOLY COMMUNION REMINDER: If you plan to receive Holy Communion today, please register with the elders in the secretary's office before the worship service begins.

 

WASHING OF REBIRTH: Liam Ryan Gutz, infant son of Ryan and Alicia Gutz, born March 3, 2018, will be brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in our service this morning. Riley Johnson, Gabby Johnson, and Tricia and Kevin Christiansen will serve as sponsors. We thank the LORD for making Liam His child and heir through Holy Baptism, and we pray that he will continue to live in his baptismal grace all the days of his life and into eternity. ALL ADMINISTRATIVE BOARDS will meet this Wednesday evening, April 11th at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Church Council Meeting at 8:30 p.m. All board and council members are encouraged to attend, as you will be working on the annual budget.

 

LWML (PLAINVIEW ZONE) SPRING GATHERING: The Spring Rally will be held next Saturday, April 14th, here at Immanuel Lutheran Church, from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Our guest speaker is Rev. Michael Awe from Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning's Sunrise Service are Shelby Stelling and Kennady Johnson. For the 9:30 a.m. service they are Grace Broekemeier and Madeline Huwaldt. Next Sunday they will be Keaton Timmerman and Graysen Schultze.

 

PLEASE NOTE!! The orders of worship for both the Easter Sunrise and the Easter 9:30 a.m. worship service are included in today's bulletin. Please bring them back with you when you return for the 9:30 a.m. worship service.

 

AN EASTER BREAKFAST, hosted by the members of the LYF, will be held this morning following the Sunrise Service in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.

 

THERE WILL BE NO SUNDAY SCHOOL OR BIBLE CLASSES THIS MORNING.

 

THANK YOU to the members of the Youth Group, and everyone else who helped make our Easter Worship Services extra special this morning.

 

WE THANK everyone who provided funding for Easter Lilies to decorate our church this morning. If you would still like to provide funds of $15 to purchase one of the Lilies, please contact either Pastor or Denise. You may pick them up after worship services next Sunday, April 8th.

 

PASTOR EMERY IS WEARING A CHASUBLE at the 9:30 a.m. worship service. This vestment is usually worn for festival Sundays in the Lutheran Church. It symbolizes charity, which is particularly fitting for Easter as we consider Christ's charity for all mankind through his death and resurrection.

 

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR TERRY CLAUSEN will be held here, at Immanuel, on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, also here at Immanuel.

 

THE NOON LUNCHEON following Terry Clausen's funeral on Tuesday will be held at the Osmond City Hall. If you were planning to bring food for the luncheon, please bring either, cake, bars or cookies, as the remainder of the meal is being catered. Please bring your food to the city hall by 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Linens should be in good condition and dark colors are recommended. Content items must be new and can be any brand. There are boxes in the entryways at both sides of church for anyone wishing to donate items for this mission. Thank you for your support of the LYF.

 

A BRACELET was found in the church following Deloris Wiese's funeral. If you are missing a bracelet, you may claim it in the secretary's office.

THE 8TH GRADE CONFIRMATION CLASS will meet at 3:45 p.m., next Wednesday, March 21st.

 

LENTEN WORSHIP SERVICES will be held on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m.

 

THE MEMBERS OF THE 7TH & 8TH GRADE CONFIRMATION CLASS will host the fellowship hour following this week's Lenten Worship Service. A freewill donation will be received for missionary Sarah Kanoy.

 

CONFIRMATION PRACTICE AND PICTURES will be held next Saturday morning, March 24th at 9:00 a.m.

THE YELLOW VBS FORMS ASKING FOR VOLUNTEERS that was in your bulletins boxes last week are due by March 11th. There are extra forms on the ledge below the bulletin boxes and also a box for the returned forms.

 

NEXT WEEK'S SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON, for both children and adults, will be the story of Paul and Silas in prison, from Acts 16. Come and join us as we see how Paul and Silas faithfully told the people about Jesus in the midst of their false fortune-telling, and how they disrupted their income. The people were rallied against Paul and Silas and had them imprisoned. See how God brought them freedom, both from prison and from the bondage of sin and death.

 

THE LYF IS COLLECTING ITEMS FOR HYGIENE KITS FOR ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN. Their goal is to collect and deliver 150 kits. Items needed to complete kits are bath towel, wash cloth, bath-size bar of soap, adult-size toothbrush, sturdy comb, Band-Aids (1/2" or ¾"). Linens should be in good condition and dark colors are recommended. Content items must be new and can be any brand. There are boxes in the entryways at both sides of church for anyone wishing to donate items for this mission. Thank you for your support of the LYF.

 

PLAINVIEW ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH AND SCHOOL'S 15TH ANNUAL ALL YOU CAN EAT PANCAKE, EGG, AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST with baked goods will be held next Saturday, March 3rd from 7 A.M. to 1 P.M. A freewill offering will be taken. Supplemental funds will be provided by Thrivent Financial and the funds will be donated to Christian Education at Zion.

WASHING OF REBIRTH: Wyatt Charles, infant son of Chad and Kristin Price, born December 5, 2017, will be brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in our service this morning. THE VERDIGRE COMMUNITY CHORUS will present their annual Christmas Concert entitled "Ringing in Christmas" today, December 3rd, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Verdigre and at 7:00 p.m. at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. All are invited to attend.

 

THE LWML CHRISTMAS PARTY will be held this Tuesday evening, December 5th, beginning with a social time at 6:00 p.m., and a potluck beginning at 6:30 p.m. All LWML members are asked to bring a hot dish, and one other dish. LWML members are reminded to bring your Christmas Socks for Mites! Please remember your husbands are invited to attend. We will also have an offering for Lutheran Family Service and our project—"The Beckendorf Ministry."

 

MIDWEEK AND CONFIRMATION CLASSES for students in the 5th thru 8th grade will meet on Wednesday afternoon, December 6th beginning at 3:45 p.m.

 

MIDWEEK ADVENT WORSHIP SERVICES will be held Wednesday evening, December 6th beginning at 7:00 p.m. We will begin each Midweek Advent Service with a hymn sing beginning at 7:00 p.m.

 

A FELLOWSHIP HOUR will follow the Advent worship services on Wednesday evening. Members of the Ladies Aid will host the fellowship hour and the Ladies Aid members are reminded to bring 1 dozen sandwiches and help serve.

 

BIBLE STUDY will be held this Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m.

 

A JOINING JESUS' MINISTRY MEETING will be held Thursday evening, December 7th at 7:00 p.m.

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRACTICE for Sunday School students in Kindergarten thru the 8th grade will be held Saturday morning, December 9th from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

 

REMEMBERING OUR COLLEGE STUDENTS: Once again we are planning to remember our college students as they are preparing for semester finals before Christmas beak by sending them a Christmas card containing a Subway gift card. We need to raise approximately $350 for this project. If you would like to donate to this project, please leave your donation in the basket in the rear of the church or drop it off in the secretary's office.

 

THE PRESCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM will be held next Sunday afternoon, December 10th beginning at 4:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.

 

POINSETTIAS TO DECORATE THE CHURCH FOR THE ADVENT/CHRISTMAS SEASON have been ordered from Expressions Floral in Pierce. We would appreciate any and all donations to cover the cost of these plants. The total cost for 16 plants is $340.00. This includes the flowers for the altar and the cross. Any amount will be most welcome and after the Christmas season, the flowers will be available for contributing members to take home and enjoy! Simply leave your donation in the church office with your name.

 

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO VOLUNTEER TO TAKE CARE OF THE POTTED PLANTS THROUGHOUT THE CHURCH INCLUDING THE POINSETTIAS. If interested please contact the church office.
