THE LWML ASH WEDNESDAY PRAYER SERVICE entitled “P.R.A.Y.E.R.” will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd.  Registration and Coffee hour will be from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. and the prayer service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

ASH WEDNESDAY WORSHIP SERVICES WITH HOLY COMMUNION will be held on Ash Wednesday, February 22nd,  at 7:30 p.m.

HOLY BAPTISM:  Ethan Gregory Pfanstiel, son of Gregory and Beverly Pfanstiel was baptized, here at Immanuel, last Wednesday evening.  His sponsors were Randy and Janet Pfanstiel.  We welcome Ethan into our family of faith.

HOLY BAPTISM:  Jadrian Rose Fettig, infant daughter of Ryan Fettig and Teri Bauer was baptized, here at Immanuel, yesterday.  Her sponsors were Marcus & Sarah Morfeld.  We welcome Jadrian into our family of faith.

THE LWML will meet this Wednesday evening, January 25th at 7:30 p.m.

DURING THE HOLIDAY SEASON and throughout the year, families may experience difficult times due to medical issues that arise.  Immanuel established a “Helping Hands Fund” with memorial funds from the Beata Lorenz family to assist those that are truly in need.  If you are aware of someone in our congregation that could use a ‘helping hand’ contact Pastor or one of the elders.                     

 

THE LYF will go Christmas Caroling this evening.  We will meet at 4:30 p.m. to assemble Christmas Sacks for Christmas Eve and then go caroling with bowling to follow.

MR. WILLIAM J. “BILL” RISSMAN, the father of Karen Schreiber, passed away on Saturday, November 26th at the age of 90 years, at the Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield, MN.  Funeral services were held on Friday, December 2nd at Christ Lutheran Church in Preston, MN.  Rev. SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PROGRAM PRACTICE  will take place on Saturday mornings during the month of December from 9-11 a.m.  Students are required to be at the practices if they intend to participate in the program.  Please note:  We will not use Sunday mornings to practice the Christmas program; the time will be used for lessons.

 

THE SUNDAY SCHOOL has put up their “Mitten Tree” and it could use some decorations like new or slightly worn- children’s hats, gloves or mittens.  We have paper mittens that families can write their donations on to also help decorate the tree.  We will be collecting for our “Mitten Tree” the next three Sundays; members of the congregation are also welcome to join in our mission project.  The Sunday School finished up their “Coats for Kids” and were able to purchase 17 coats to be given to the Norfolk Rescue Mission, Bright Horizons and the Norfolk Crisis Nursery for children in need.  Thank you to all that helped with this awesome project!

LADIES, PLEASE CHECK AT HOME TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON’T HAVE SOMEONE ELSE’S PERSONALIZED PAN AND COVER as one has turned up missing following the Windsor Loin Church Dinner.  If you have someone else’s pan, please return it to the church kitchen, so that it can be returned to its rightful owner. 

 

THE LYF MEMBERS will set up the Nativity Scene next Sunday afternoon, November 27th at 2:00 p.m.  All LYF members are asked to show up, as practice for the Advent Worship play will follow.

 

ST PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH (ORCHARD) ANNUAL SOUP SUPPER will be held today from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. in their fellowship hall.  There will be your choice of soup (Chicken Noodle, Ham & Bean, Wisconsin Cheese or Chili), sandwich served on homemade bread (Ham & Cheese or Chicken Salad) with beverage and choice of pie or cake for dessert.  Adults: $6, Children (4-12): $4, and Children (under 4):  Free.  Hope to see you there!  There will also be a silent auction for gift baskets of various kinds which would make great gift ideas for Christmas!

                                                            

LIVE NATIVITY: First Trinity and Golgotha Lutheran Churches invite you to attend a Live Nativity presentation “Watch The Lamb” which will be held in the Harm and Tulleys Event Center at the Knox County Fair Grounds, today at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.  There is no cost to enter this event as it is a gift to the community from these churches.  Please dress accordingly as the Event Center is not heated.  Refreshments will be served following each presentation.

 

THE LADIES AID/LWML BAZAAR will be held in the church fellowship hall on Friday, December 2nd from 11 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Mark your calendars and plan to have lunch and supper, here at Immanuel.  They will serve chili, chicken noodle soup, taverns, ham sandwiches, hot dogs, pie and coffee, in addition to having a bake sale and craft sale.  Members of Immanuel are encouraged to attend.

 

THE IMMANUEL SUNDAY SCHOOL is Thankful for all the awesome kids that have brought their offering money each week.  Our goal was to collect enough dollars to purchase 15 coats for children in need.  To date we have collected enough money to purchase 13 coats.  Great Job, Students!  We will use the offerings from today and next Sunday in our total, so keep up the good work!

 

SUNDAY SCHOOL CHRISTMAS EVE PROGRAM PRACTICE will take place on Saturdays in the month of December from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Students are required to be at the practices if they intend to participate in the program.  Please note:  We will not use Sunday mornings to practice the Christmas program; the time will be used for Sunday School lessons.

 

WJAG LUTHERAN HOUR 2012 BROADCAST SCHEDULE:  At the present time the Lutheran Hour sponsorships for 2012 are being booked.  There are 17 openings at the present time.  If you would like to sponsor a broadcast to honor a special event in 2012,  NOW IS THE TIME to book your date.  Call Arlan Warneke at 402/329/6686 to schedule your sponsorship.  Those who have an annual sponsorship should be receiving letters confirming your sponsorship prior to Thanksgiving Day, November 24th.

 

CHRISTMAS AT CONCORDIA:  Celebrate the Advent season with Christmas at Concordia presented by more than 250 student musicians from Concordia University, Nebraska.  The good news of Christmas is shared with music from all different times and cultures on December 3 & 4.  Three concerts, Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m., will be held at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward.  Free tickets are required and are available online at www.cune.edu/CaCpayment or by calling 800535 5494, ext. 7408.  See the posters for additional event information during the weekend.

WE REMEMBER IN OUR PRAYERS TODAY:   Arleath Blunck, Norman Blunck,  Stephanie Daubert, Bernice Kumm, Evan Donovan and Kurt Wecker.  We also include a prayer for Lacy Johnson and Matthew Stelling, who plan to be married, here at Immanuel next Saturday.  If you have prayer requests for any members of your family or friends, please notify Pastor or the church secretary to have them added and also when you want them removed.
