THANKS FOR PRAYING FOR ME!

Hi!  I heard that you had a prayer for me at Immanuel and I wanted to let you know how much I appreciated it.  I’m Dorothy Krohn’s daughter, the one that had a tumor removed from the base of the skull on June 12th.  The surgery was successful and they were able to get all the tumor, which they didn’t think they’d be able to.  There is a chance it will grow back but we’ll deal with that if need be, radiation would be the plan then.  The kind of tumor I had was a meningioma, which is on the lining of the brain and usually benign.  Thankfully it was indeed benign!  This tumor was discovered a couple of years ago when I had an MRI done for an onset of headaches, the headaches don’t seem to be connected with the tumor however.  They were glad to learn of it though as it was right by the optic nerve and the carotid artery and it was just a matter of time before it did damage.  The reason we went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester for the surgery is because of the location of the tumor.  I had an awesome team of doctors and had no major complications.  The only frustration at this time is that my right eyelid hasn’t opened since the surgery.  They think that the nerve is in shock and that it will open in time.  The vision is there and I may have to patch awhile for some double vision when it does open.  So I am trying to stay positive and trust that God will heal the nerve and I can use my eye again.  Just wanted to give you a little background and thank you again for the prayer.  There’s something so special about the people at your “home church” praying for you.  It meant a lot to me and I know God did indeed answer the prayers!

                                                Thank You!

                                                Jane Withee (from Rifle, CO)
