MITES FOR MISSIONS—The LWML Mite Box is on the stand by the bulletin boxes. We continue to collect for our Mission Projects and invite anyone to share your coins with us. We appreciate and thank you for your donations to mites. If you have a Mite Box at home and would like to bring it in and empty it in the "Big Mite Box", please feel free to do so.

PLEASE NOTE!! There will be Sunday School next Sunday, however there will not be any Adult Bible Class as Pastor will be preaching in Bloomfield for their 8:00 a.m. worship service.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS: A Plainview Circuit Reformation celebration will take place the weekend of October 20-22. A professional church musician will present special workshops for organists and choirs. A mass choir will provide music prepared in the workshop for the Reformation Service to be held on Sunday afternoon, October 22, at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview.

THE CHURCH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY OF THIS WEEK as both Pastor and the secretary will not be in the office on Monday and Independence Day.

 

AN ABSENT SAINTS MEETING will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening, July 5th, at the home of Dwight and Donna Kahny.

THE LADIES AID is celebrating its 100th Anniversary. Flowers have been placed at the altar in commemoration of the event. Cake, coffee, and punch will be provided and served immediately after the worship service this morning in the fellowship hall. We hope you can all join us. Check out the display table. The anniversary cake was baked and decorated by Aid member, Denise Streich. It will be served by two of our sixty year members—Margaret Broekemeier and Clarice Gansebom. Deloris Wiese is also a sixty year honorary member.

 

THANK YOU to everyone who came to help mow the church cemetery last week. Your willingness to help is very much appreciated.

HELEN KUMM is now residing at the Assisted Living at the Plainview Manor in Plainview, Nebraska.

 

THE IMMANUEL LUTHERAN LADIES AID will observe their 100th Anniversary and will host a reception after worship services next Sunday, June 11th. Cake, punch, and coffee will be served and a display table will be set up. Members of the congregation are invited to join them and help them celebrate.

 

GUEST NIGHT AT FIRST TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, BLOOMFIELD. The ladies of First Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomfield, would like to invite you to guest night. This year we are pleased to welcome Pastor Bobby and Karen Peters. They are returning from a Reformation Tour in Germany and will share key points from the tour as well as pictures and personal experiences including Luther's Life. Please come join us this Wednesday, June 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall for food, entertainment and fellowship.

 

GIFTS FROM THE HEART—Albuquerque 2017—Our LWML society has chosen to give Gift Cards at the National LWML Convention as our item for the National LWML convention this summer. $10 or $25 amounts recommended to Walmart, K-Mart, Kohl's or J C Penney. Donations of gift cards may be given to President Deb Gutz. If you would like to donate cash, she would be glad to get gift cards for you. These will go to four different agencies – Albuquerque Christian Children (Privately funded foster care that emphasizes Christianity), Care Net (works with unplanned pregnancies – Pro-Life!), Lutheran World Relief (focuses on international disaster relief and recovery), and Ysleta Lutheran Mission (provides ministry and human care on both sides of the US/Mexico border).

REMINDER: THE OSMOND FOOD PANTRY AT THE METHODIST CHURCH IS RUNNING LOW and could use restocking. They are in need of all items, such as cereal, personal items, soap, toilet tissue, laundry soap, cake mixes, mac and cheese, canned meats, tuna, etc. They do still have enough canned vegetables and spaghetti sauce at this time. If you could help them restock, they would really appreciate it. Thank you.

JOHN 3:16 CHRISTIAN CROSS FESTIVAL—Mark your calendars! You are cordially invited to join us at the 13th Annual Christian Cross Festival to be held at Skyview Lake in Norfolk, NE nest Friday, June 9th from 6 – 11 p.m. and Saturday, June 10th from 12 (Noon) to 11 pm. This is a family friendly event that will include Christian music, testimony, children's activities, inflatables, kayaks and fireworks. Relax next to the lake while you listen to artists and speakers at the Main stage or check out the Coffee house stage where you can get close to the performers in a more intimate musical setting. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a day of great Christian music and fellowship with us. Check out our tent camping to register online. Food vendors will be available. There will be NO ADMISSION charge for this event. This is possible only by our financial sponsors and our volunteers that donate many hours of their time.

THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning's worship service are Shelby and Logan Stelling. Next Sunday morning they will be Jared Bessmer and Makenzie Johnson.

 

OUR READER for this morning's worship service is Jared Bessmer. Next Sunday our reader will be Ed Brummels. Helping serve and prepare Holy Communion next Sunday will be Aaron von Rentzell.

 

WASHING OF REBIRTH: Taytum Carter, daughter of Levi and Rachel Gutz, born March 22, 2017 will be brought into God's Kingdom of Grace through the washing of Holy Baptism in our service this morning. Seth Gutz, Ashley Blanchard and James Hagedorn will serve as sponsors, with Travis and Linda Gutz as witnesses. We thank the LORD for making Taytum His child and heir through Holy Baptism, and we pray that she will continue to live in her baptismal grace all the days of her life, and into eternity. God bless you, Taytum Carter.

MITES FOR MISSIONS—The LWML Mite Box is on the stand by the bulletin boxes. We continue to collect for our Mission Projects and invite anyone to share your coins with us. We appreciate and thank you for your donations to mites. If you have a Mite Box at home and would like to bring it in and empty it in the "Big Mite box", please feel free to do so.

 

WE THANK EVERYONE who came to help mow the church cemetery this past week and also a big "Thank You" to the members of the LYF and their sponsors for their help putting up the flags. Your willingness to help is very much appreciated.

 

THE CHURCH OFFICE will be closed tomorrow, Memorial Day.

GUEST NIGHT AT FIRST TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, BLOOMFIELD.

The ladies of First Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomfield, would like to invite you to guest night. This year we are pleased to welcome Pastor Bobby and Karen Peters. They are returning from a Reformation Tour in Germany and will share key points from the tour as well as pictures and personal experiences including Luther's Life. Please come join us on June 7th at 7:00 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall for food, entertainment and fellowship.

 

THE IMMANUEL LUTHERAN LADIES AID will observe their 100th Anniversary and will host a reception after worship services on Sunday, June 11th. Cake, punch, and coffee will be serve and a display table will be set up. Members of the congregation are invited to join them in celebrating this impressive "Milestone".

 

GIFTS FROM THE HEART—Albuquerque 2017—Our LWML society has chosen to give Gift Cards at the National LWML Convention as our item for the National LWML convention this summer. $10 or $25 amounts recommended to Walmart, K-Mart, Kohl's or J C Penney. Donations of gift cards may be given to President Deb Gutz. If you would like to donate cash, she would be glad to get gift cards for you. These will go to four different agencies – Albuquerque Christian Children (Privately funded foster care that emphasizes Christianity), Care Net (works with unplanned pregnancies – Pro-Life!), Lutheran World Relief (focuses on international disaster relief and recovery), and Ysleta Lutheran Mission (provides ministry and human care on both sides of the US/Mexico border).

FLOWERS HAVE BEEN PLACED ON THE ORGAN in observance of Wes and Leila Kumm's 60th wedding anniversary, which is today.

 

THE FLOWERS AT THE ALTAR are from the funeral of Marcy Krohn. We thank her family for sharing them with us and extend our sincere sympathy.

 

WE WELCOME KEITH AND SHARON BESSMER as new members of Immanuel, as they have transferred their church membership to Immanuel from Zion Lutheran Church of Plainview, NE.

 

THANK YOU to everyone who came to help mow the church cemetery last week. Your willingness to help mow is very much appreciated, especially during this busy and "wet" time of the year.

 

THE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet at 1:30 p.m. this Wednesday afternoon, May 24th at the home of Carleen Gutz.

 

THE LWML will meet this Wednesday evening, May 24th at 7:30 p.m.

 

THE IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CEMETERY WILL BE MOWED again on Thursday evening, May 25th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. We hope to have a good turnout so that our cemetery will look nicely manicured for the Memorial Day Weekend, before people start bringing flowers to their loved ones graves. THE OSMOND FOOD PANTRY IS RUNNING LOW and could use restocking. They are in need all items, such as cereal, personal items, soap, toilet tissue, laundry soap, cake mixes, etc. They do still have enough canned green beans and spaghetti sauce at this time. If you could help them restock, they would really appreciate it. Thank you.

PRESCHOOL GRADUATION will be held on Wednesday, May 17th at 7:00 p.m.

MESSAGE FROM CHURCH DINNER COMMITTEE!!! Since it is now time to plant sweet corn, the committee members ask you to plant some extra sweet corn and freeze it for the church dinner. MARK YOUR CALENDARS: A Plainview Circuit Reformation celebration will take place the weekend of October 20-22. A professional church musician will present special workshops for organists and choirs. A mass choir will provide music prepared in the workshop for the Reformation Service to be held on Sunday afternoon, October 22, at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview.
