“THE BRIDGE” –LYF will continue their weekly discipleship classes on Wednesday with Pastor Kirchoff at 6:30 p.m. ALL high school students are encouraged and welcome to attend.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE is planned for the family and friends of Anthony “Tony” Johannsen to be held here at Immanuel on Saturday, May 7th. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service and coffee reception after the service. Pastor Kirchoff will be officiating. A private inurnment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery at McLean.

CHANGE OF MISSION: The donations for “Farm Fresh Eggs” in the church kitchen will now be collected for Pastor Lilienkamp’s mission work in Alaska. The Anchor Lutheran School he helps with is trying to add high school classes, but is in need of funds for school modifications.

MERCY MEALS OPEN HOUSE: Join us for an Open House Thursday, April 28th from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at 603 W. Madison Ave., Norfolk, NE 68701. If you are unable to attend, you can call 402-649-6401 for a tour or to set up a packing event.

MAIN STREET LIVING NEWS: This is the Life – “Gates of Glory” – Thomas recounts his experience with doubt and belief as he meets the risen Jesus. Worship Service – Rev. Dr. Matthew Harrison, President of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, delivers the message for the LCMS Anniversary Service. These shows air on today on KCAU-TV 9 out of Sioux City beginning at 10:00 a.m.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR: Today, Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler is the speaker. Other information was not available. The Lutheran Hour airs on WJAG-AM 780 and WJAG-FM 105.9 on Sundays at 7:30 AM -12:30 PM. Through God’s grace and love The Lutheran Hour reaches over ONE MILLION listeners each week.

ADOPT-A-COLLEGE STUDENT: It is time again to adopt-a-college student. Immanuel has 30 college students who could use some extra love and support, especially as they approach the end of the school year and final exams. We need to have care packages mailed by TOMORROW to help them prepare for finals week. There are still 3 college student names and addresses available before and after church in back today! If you are interested, please see Donna and she will give you the student’s name and mailing information, or you can contact the church office.

THE LYF IS SERVING EASTER BREAKFAST after the Sunrise service this morning at approximately 7:30 a.m.

CHOIR will practice at 8:30 this morning and sing at the beginning of the 9:30 service.

NO SUNDAY SCHOOL OR BIBLE CLASSES will be held today! They will resume next Sunday as usual.

THE QUARTLY VOTER”S MEETING will be held this Wednesday, April 20th at 8:00 p.m. The 2022-2023 Annual Budget will be voted on as well as other church business. All voters are encouraged to attend along with anyone wishing to become a voting member.

WARNING! On the night of April 20th around the hour of 6 pm, groups of teenagers may be seen driving around town. If said teenagers stop at your house please do not be alarmed. They are not expected to be dangerous.

THE LYF DADDY-DAUGHTER DANCE FUNDRAISER was a success! We had a great turnout and many people expressed how much they enjoyed it. A big thank you to the LYF members and their parents for doing an amazing job helping out. Also, thank you to anyone who donated their time and answered any questions we had.

THE FLOWER BOUQUETS next to the altar is from the funeral of Elaine Peterson. The red and white carnations are in honor of our confirmation class today.

LYF MEMBERS are hosting a Daddy/Daughter dance today, from 5-7 p.m. here at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Cost is $10 per daddy/daughter and $5 for each additional daughter. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Proceeds help the LYF fund their convention trip to Houston, Texas.

THANK YOU to Tiger Town Food Center for donating all the potatoes for the baked potato bar last Wednesday evening.

THANK YOU We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our family of Immanuel Lutheran Church through the passing of our mom, Elaine. Thank you for all the thoughts, prayers, encouraging words, and hugs through this difficult time. A special thank you to Pastor Scott for his visits and support through her hospital stay and wonderful eulogy at the funeral. Thank you, Lori, for the beautiful playing of some of mom’s favorite hymns during the service. Thank you also, to the funeral lunch committee for providing the delicious meal and serving moms loved ones. The members here embraced Mom and Dad when they moved here 15 years ago and we are so thankful and blessed. We are comforted knowing she now sees Jesus, face to face. THE ANNUAL CONFIRMATION RECOGNITION NIGHT, hosted by the LWML and Thrivent, will be held this evening at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Guest speaker will be Christine Ekberg, DCE at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk. LWML members will reveal their Secret Pals and a light meal will be served. Confirmands and their families, LWML members and their spouses, and chairmen of each Immanuel Church organization are invited to attend.

REMINDER: There will be a Pre-Budget meeting of all Elders, Trustees, Board of Education, Chairman and Vice-Chairman on Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. Church boards and council meet Wednesday, the 13th.

MIDWEEK LENT continues this Wednesday with a 6:00 supper of a baked potato bar and dessert prepared by the LYF members going to the National Gathering in Texas this summer. Worship will begin at 7:00 p.m.

“THE BRIDGE” –LYF officers will meet Thursday at 6:00 p.m. LYF will continue their weekly discipleship classes with Pastor Kirchoff at 6:30 p.m. ALL high school students are encouraged and welcome to attend.

THE RITE OF CONFIRMATION of our 4 8th grade students will be next Sunday. Members of this year’s class are: Jade Halsey, Carriana Kumm, Kaleigh Miller and Meagan Wagner.
