WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

OUR READER this morning Paul Koehler and next Sunday our reader will be Ross Stelling. Helping with communion this morning are Ed Brummels and Larry Krohn.

CANDLELIGHTERS for this morning are Molly Beacom-Timmerman and Juliana Kumm. Next Sunday they will be Riley Wagner and Kaden Polt.

BAPTISM IS BEING HELD THIS MORNING for Henry Bud Koehler, son of Mark and Kate (Utecht) Koehler. Henry’s sponsors are Adam & Kim Utecht and Eric Koehler. God’s blessings to Henry as he becomes a member of our congregation and an heir of our Heavenly Father.

THE FLOWERS ON THE PIANO are in honor of Jim & Margaret Broekemeier’s 70th Wedding anniversary which will be on Thursday, September 9th. Congratulations and God’s blessings to you both!.

FAREWELL POTLUCK: There will be a Farewell Potluck for Pastor and Darlene Lilienkamp today at noon. The congregation is invited to attend. Please bring a meat/main dish and/or salad. Thank you, Pastor Lilienkamp for all you have done for Immanuel these past 11 months.

CONFIRMATION AND MIDWEEK CLASSES begin this Wednesday, September 8th from 4:00 -5:30 p.m. for grades 5-8.

CONFIRMATION PARENTS will be meeting with Pastor Rosenthal after the first class this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. All parents are asked to please be present.

A CALL MEETING is set for this Wednesday, September 8th at 7:30 PM. Information on the candidates we will be voting on is in your bulletin boxes. You may come earlier, beginning at 7:00 PM to look at the personal bios of the candidates if you wish.

LADIES AID will meet this Thursday at 2:00 p.m.

NEVER MISS A DONATION TO THE CHURCH AGAIN - We are in the process of setting up automatic payments to the church. We have decided on setting up these payments on the 1st and 15th of the month, beginning in October. You can choose one or both of these dates. If you are interested in doing this, please stop in the office and Deb will have you fill out the needed form.

REV. LEON ROSENTHAL will begin as our new vacancy pastor this week. He will start Confirmation classes this Wednesday, September 8th at 4:00 p.m. The weekly bible class will be held on Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. as we have been doing. If you are in need of pastoral care, he can be reached at 402-416-1250.

THE LUTHERAN HOUR: Today, "Living, Mighty, Active Faith" Speaker: Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler. An elephant is a living, mighty, active thing. So is the faith of Jesus. (Isaiah 35:4-7)The Lutheran Hour airs on WJAG-AM 780 and WJAG-FM 105.9 on Sundays at 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM.

MAIN STREET LIVING NEWS: Today on This is the Life – “The Sound of Doors Closing” – A man’s mid-life crisis and the effect it has on his family. Worship Service – Rev. Richard Salcido of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ida Grove, IA, delivers the message “Fear Not the Autumn Leaves” based on Isaiah 35:4-7. These shows air today beginning at 10:00 AM on KCAU-9 TV out of Sioux City. Additional information is available on the website: www.mainstreetliving.com.

THANK YOU to the members who helped mow the cemetery last week. Your willingness to help is appreciated so much.

A DIGITAL SIGN is being considered to replace the sign on the NE corner of the church. A poster has been made and is in the back of church. Donations may be put in the offering plate (clearly marked for the digital sign) or dropped off at the church office. The committee is considering this a mission project. Any questions may be addressed to the committee: LaDonna Stanosheck, Randy Pfanstiel and Deb Gutz.

OSMOND UMW GUEST DAY will be held this Wednesday in their fellowship hall at 6:30 with a salad luncheon followed by A Century of Fashion “The Roaring Twenties” by Sue McLain of Humanities Nebraska. Bring your daughters and granddaughters. All are welcome for an evening of fun and fellowship.
