WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning.  We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

 

OUR READER for this morning is LYF member, Graysen Schultze. Wednesday evening and next Sunday the reader will be Paul Koehler. Helping with communion next Sunday will be Ed Brummels and Larry Krohn.

 

OUR CANDLELIGHTERS for this morning are Baylen Guenther and Molly Beacom-Timmerman. Wednesday evening they will be Graysen Schultze and Connor von Rentzell. Next Sunday the candlelighters will be Molly Beacom-Timmerman and Leia Buchanan.

 

ADULT BIBLE CLASS TODAY begins a new study entitled:  “Dangerous Teachings of Christianity.”  Today’s class will learn the meaning of a “worldview.”  Is there a distinctive Christian “worldview” and how is it different a non-Christian “worldview?”  How is the Christian “worldview” a blessing for a fruitful life here on earth?

 

LYF MEETING  will be held on Sunday, March 7th right after church.  Butter Braid orders need to be turned in at the meeting.

 

LYF PARENTS:  Please let Melanie Gutz know if your LYF member will be able to participate in the Easter Sunrise Service by March 1st.  Please call or text Melanie @ 402-525-7323.

 

LYF WILL BE HOSTING FELLOWSHIP after The Lent service on March 3rd.  Please wear your LYF t-shirts.  LYF will be serving Butter Braids!

 

PASTOR LILIENKAMP is available in Osmond on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Wednesday evenings. Confirmation class is taught from 4-5:30 PM.  Thursday mornings, he is available before and after 9:00 Bible class.  Thursday afternoon available until 3 PM.  To ensure contact, please call Pastor Lilienkamp at 402-369-2529 or the church office.

 

THE LUTHERAN HOUR:  Each week the nation’s longest-running Christian radio broadcast speaks to more than a million people about the matchless love of God as revealed in His Son Jesus Christ. Today, Rev. Dr. Michael Zeigler is the speaker.

MAIN STREET LIVING presents – “Out of Bondage” on This Is the Life, where they examine the Christian approach to alcoholism. Worship Service – Rev. Christopher LaBoube of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Mapleton, IA delivers the message “The Peace of God Gives Us Hope” based on Romans 5:1-11.  These shows air today beginning at 10:00 AM on KCAU-9 TV out of Sioux City.

 

SERMON SERIES FOR LENT & HOLY WEEK:  The 40-day journey of Lent began on Ash Wednesday..  The Lenten services will use a weekly recitation of the Six Chief Parts of Luther’s Small Catechism.  By reviewing the parts of the catechism, we can re-affirm the faith that we confess and live.  The sermons will focus on the atoning blood of Jesus.  These sermons will challenge us to cling to the Sacrament of the Altar where the body and blood of Christ are given for us.  The sermon themes to come yet are as follows:  

March 3:  “The Blood That Gives Access”  Hebrews 10:19–22

March 10: “The Blood That Speaks” Hebrews 12:22–24

March 17: “Shared Blood”  Hebrews 2:10–18

March 24: “The Blood That Sanctifies”  Hebrews 13:9-16

April 2: Maundy Thursday: “The Blood of the Covenant”

                                          Exodus 24:3–11

April 3: Good Friday: “A Rich Burial” Isaiah 53:9

April 4: Easter Sunrise: LYF message

April 4: Easter:  “With Him through Death” Daniel 3:1–29;

FELLOWSHIP HOURS:  Thank you to the following groups who volunteered to serve for the weekly fellowship hours after midweek Lent services:  March 3:  LYF will serve         March 10: 5th & 6th Grade Students     March 17: Ladies Aid will serve              March 24:  no fellowship hour – carpet getting installed
