2019 BIBLE SALE! CPH is having their annual Bible sale. It is a great time to buy a new bible for yourself or for a gift for your child or grandchild for confirmation as well. There is a sign-up sheet in the back of church. Please list your order by September 15th. Thank You!

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED!!!! The Fall Sunday School classes will begin September 15th. Teachers are needed. Please contact Jared Koehler if interested @ 402-360-2919

SUNDAE SUNDAY – We invite everyone next Sunday for Sundae Sunday. We will kick off the Sunday School year with games, prizes and ice cream.

2nd YEAR OFFICERS!! – All 2nd year officers are what make up the Nominating Committee. There will be a meeting next Sunday, September 8th at 7:00 p.m. to make plans for all nominations for officers for the 2020 Council and other positions including Auditors, Ushers and Nurturing and Fellowship Committee. Please mark it on your calendar and plan to attend. Thank you.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Elders have initiated an effort to make sure all families of the congregation are contacted at least once every 6 months. Volunteers from the congregation are needed to help with 10-20 families. Please contact one of the Elders if you would like to join us. There will be a meeting on September 22nd at 7:00 p.m. to get the ball rolling.

QUILT TYING is scheduled to resume on Monday, September 9th, at 1:00 p.m. All ladies of the congregation are invited to come for an afternoon of fellowship and quilt tying. See you there!!

EXTENSION CORDS – If you borrowed the blue and/or orange extension cords from the church, please return them.

CHOIR BEGINS next Sunday, September 8th at 8:30 a.m. We will practice from 8:30 – 9:15, and then sing at the beginning of the service. Come join us!

TRUSTEES LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS to help do some caulking/filling in some holes around the church. Please contact one of the trustees if you are willing to help.

CHURCH ANNIVERSARY --You are cordially invited to join Concordia Lutheran Church, Clearwater in celebrating its 75th anniversary on Sunday, September 22. The regular morning Divine Service will take place at the special time of 10 AM. At noon, a catered dinner of chicken and ham will be offered in the church basement, followed by the anniversary program in the sanctuary, and concluding with cake and ice cream in the church basement. If you plan to attend the morning service and/or the noon meal, please let Pastor Feusse know so that he can make the proper preparations. OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY! Once a decade, for nearly 400 years, the people of Oberammergau, Germany have produced a play of our Lord's passion. The play returns in 2020, and features a 2000 member cast, all from Oberammergau. Pastor David Roth, Zion Lutheran Church, Owensville, Missouri, is hosting an 11 day tour of Alpine Europe, including the Play, Munich, Salzburg, Innsbruck, and more, through Nawas International Travel, the largest provider of Passion Play tickets in North America. It departs New York City on July 28, 2020, $4159. The play happens only once every ten years. Don't wait for 2030. For more information contact Pr. THE TRUSTEES are looking for suggestions for replacing the carpet in the front (east) entry and for behind the pews in the church proper. If you have suggestions or thoughts, please contact a trustee or leave your suggestion/thought in the church secretary's office.

THE PLAINVIEW CIRCUIT will present a cantata on the Life of Christ on Sunday, November 3. All singers in the church, from kindergarten through adult are invited to participate. There will be a children's choir and an adult choir. Instrumentalists are also requested to participate. Practices will take place in Neligh and Plainview on Sunday afternoons in October. Please write your name and the supporting information on the sign-up sheet, located on an easel at the back of church. The registration deadline is today, August 25. ICE CREAM SOCIAL - Trinity Lutheran, Foster will have their annual homemade ice cream and pie social on TODAY from 4:00 - 8:00. Free will donations will be given to three charities: Orphan Grain Train, Lutheran Bible Translators/Rev. Tim and Lisa Beckendorf, and Hope House in Rochester, MN

Letters have been mailed to all Parents of this year's Confirmation Students. If you did not receive one, please contact the church office and one will be given to you. There will be a parents' meeting of Confirmation students immediately after worship TODAY. All parents are asked to please attend to learn more details about the class and the attendance requirements for this year.

2019 ORPHAN GRAIN TRAIN CONVENTION will be held Friday and Saturday, September 13 & 14 at DeVent Center in Norfolk. If interested you may go on their website or contact the church office. You will meet the people that receive and distribute the humanitarian aid and food for Orphan Grain Train. On Friday, you will learn more about relief efforts and aid that impacts those in need locally and internationally. An update from VP of Operations, Grant Schmidt, and hear recipients share how Orphan Grain Train changes lives in their part of the world, domestically and internationally. Dinner will be served Friday evening with the Concordia University Nebraska Show Choir performance at 7:30 p.m. Saturday will begin with morning devotion and include luncheon with keynote speaker Rev. Michael Zeigler, Lutheran Hour Speaker. There will be more sharing about the impact of Orphan Grain Train and a live and silent quilt auction. The closing devotion will be at 3:00 p.m.
