WE WELCOME EVERYONE who has worshipped with us this morning, especially our guests. We hope you will be able to worship with us again soon.

IF YOU PLAN TO RECEIVE HOLY COMMUNION DURING THIS MORNING'S WORSHIP SERVICE, please register with the elders in the secretary's office before the worship service begins.

THE CANDLE LIGHTERS for this morning's worship service are Jared Bessmer and Holly Jensen. Next Sunday they will be Haven Schultze and Molly Beacom-Timmerman.

OUR READER for this morning's worship service is Aaron von Rentzell. Communion assistants today are Ed Brummels and Doug Hartner. Next Sunday's reader will be Dwight Kahny.

Parent's Bible Study – New class begins today. "When Strong Moms Grow Quite Weak" by Lysa Terkeurst. We will meet during the Sunday School hour after church. This devotional book is for anyone 0 no matter how old your kids are as you never stop being a parent. Join us for discussion and fellowship in the Renewal Room! If you are interested, pick up this month's book in the church office. Any questions, please call/text Travis and Linda Gutz @ 402-750-4470.

Rev. Dr. Lamb will return to Immanuel tomorrow night at 6:30 p.m. to lead us in a discussion and completion of a Durable Power of Attorney. In addition, Pastor Emery and Todd Stonacek will discuss Christian funeral planning.

THE LADIES AID will meet Thursday afternoon, November 8th at 2:00 p.m. Members are reminded to bring items for cheer plates as they will be packed.

A FAREWELL RETIREMENT RECEPTION will be held on Sunday, November 11, immediately following worship services. Denise has faithfully served Immanuel since April 1985! We will also be honoring Clarice Gansebom and Wes Kumm, who have also retired from their service here at Immanuel. We give thanks to God for these members! Everyone is encouraged to stay for cake and coffee.

Church Dinner Committee will have a quick meeting after church next Sunday to disperse funds from the Annual Dinner. Contact one of the committee members if you have ideas.

Dishes, dishes, dishes!! We are still missing some pans and pie pans from the church dinner. If you bought a pie or dessert at the dinner and haven't returned the pan, please do so as soon as possible. Also, there are many dishes from the dinner and funerals that haven't been picked up. Please check the table in the east entry to see if there are dishes that might be yours!

The LYF will be serving a meal at the Norfolk Rescue Mission on November 17, 2018. They will also be collecting items for the Mission's pantry. Any donations are accepted. The items most needed at this time are: Instant Potatoes - Lipton Onion Soup Mix - Cream of Mushroom soup -- Canned Tuna and Chicken. There will be boxes in the entry of both sides of church to place donated items into. Thank you to everyone for supporting the LYF and their servant event.

Immanuel will be hosting a benefit for Pastor Tim Beckendorf on November 18th from 4-7 p.m. at the City Hall. There will be a freewill donation meal, silent auction items and a bake sale/garage sale. The committee is asking for any organization or individuals to contribute items for the silent auction, bake sale or rummage sale (no clothes please). If anyone would like to contribute, please contact one of the committee members listed below as soon as possible. If anyone would be willing to donate their Thrivent Action Team Card to help cover expenses that would be greatly appreciated! Also, if anyone would like to help work at the benefit, please let the committee know. The Beckendorfs sincerely appreciates any and all contributions or donations. Thank you!

Request for College Students Addresses and Telephone Numbers! Once again we are trying to update our college students' addresses and phone numbers, so that we can remember our students for semester finals and also that Pastor can text the students periodically. Please contact Deb in the church office with the updated information at 402-748-3301.

HUNTER'S BREAKFAST: St. Paul Lutheran church of rural Orchard will host their annual Hunter's Breakfast on Saturday and Sunday November 10 and 11 in the church basement. They will be serving pancakes and sausages, homemade soups and grilled cheese sandwiches. A freewill offering will be received to benefit St. Paul Lutheran Church. This is a Thrivent Financial Action Team Project.

Operation Christmas Child. We invite the congregation to participate in this project with us by 'packing a shoebox' or with a financial donation to help cover the postage and shipping ($9.00/box). Our goal is to send 50 shoeboxes. The Operation Christmas Child table will be set up in the west entryway of the church where you can pick up information and a shoebox for packing, return a packed shoebox or make a donation. If you have any questions, please ask one of the 5th and 6th grade students. Final collection date at Immanuel will be Sunday, November 18th. Thank you!

Jacquin Colabella's parents (Jeff & Cena) said that they'd love to have visitors. That is one valuable way we can be God's people to them. Jacquin is at Mercy Medical Center, ICU Room 5134, 801 5th St., Sioux City, IA 51101. Cards can also be sent to this address.

There's still time to buy your tickets for The Big Mission Event to be held next Sunday, November 11, at Divots Conference Center. Sponsored by Servants of the Savior from Christ Lutheran Church, Norfolk, the Event will have a live and silent auction, with all proceeds raised going towards Orphan Grain Train and various mission projects. Gary Thies will be serving as Master of Ceremonies, with Jana Inglehart, LCMS Missionary in the Dominican Republic the featured speaker for the evening. The Big Mission Event begins with a 5:00 p.m. social hour, followed by a 6:00 p.m. dinner. Tickets are available for a cost of $50 per person from Christ Lutheran Church, 605 South Fifth Street, Norfolk (402-371-1210). No tickets will be sold at the door.

Golgotha's Fall Harvest Dinner is today, November 4th, serving from 11-1.

ARK ENCOUNTER & CREATION MUSEUM COMING SOON! We leave Osmond on June 1st. We will spend one day at the Ark Encounter and one day at the Creation Museum. Both are in Kentucky. Then we travel to St. Louis and tour the Seminary, Concordia Historical Institute, LCMS Headquarters and optional activities such as a St. Louis Cardinals game, the zoo, the Arch and the botanical gardens.
